Parker called for Kristina to come pick her up around 4:30 and Kristina rolled up about 20 minutes later. "Hey babe. Sorry! Traffic was insane today." she said as she leaned over and opened the passenger door from the inside. "How was the rest of your day?" She asked as Parker got in and gave her a kiss. "It was pretty good. I didn't have any issue with the dean or any of the students for that matter. All smoothe sailing after the incident this morning. How was yours?" Parker asked. Kristina shrugged her shoulders. "Not that exciting really. I just watched some Netflix. I was gonna go shopping for work jeans because all of mine have holes in them, but I decided to wait and see if you wanted to ride with me. If so we can go tomorrow after work. I think I have a pair I can get by with for a day. If they don't like it, oh well. It's my store. " Kristina said beaming.
Parker laughed at the smaller woman sitting in the driver's seat. "That is true I suppose. You can totally make your own rules now. Are you excited to start?" She asked. "I guess so yeah. I don't really know how I feel about it yet, but I know, legally anyway, this is going to be my best shot at making decent money. Ya know, considering I never seem to earn a degree before changing schools." She joked, poking the other girl on her nose. "Not that I'm complaining or anything."
"I should hope not, because I mentioned several times that I wished you would have stayed in school. However, I am absolutely thrilled that we can finally be together and in front of everyone. It's kinda hard not to talk about someone you love, and I was sure to get busted eventually." Parker told her grabbing her hand.
"I know, I know. But like I told my mother, you don't make decisions for me. I make them for myself. I may ask your opinion on things and I may heed your advice, but since when have I ever listened to anyone telling me what to do?" Kristina pointed out.  "Besides, I don't regret it. I planned to go back to school, but now with the wedding and baby talk, I don't know if that's a good idea. School, work, and a baby? I don't know that I could pull that off." She admitted.
"We'll cross that bridge when we get to it honey," Parker told her, giving her hand a squeeze. "If you want to go back to school later on, we'll find a way to make that happen. Until then, you can try out this new-ish job you have. When we get things stable, we can discuss the baby situation. As for the wedding... well we only have a few days left. " Kristina's brain went back to the conversation with Sam this morning.'
"Oh yeah, about that, Sam agreed to help us out with the whole witness thing. She also agreed not to tell Molly until right before we go to the courthouse. " Kristina explained as she pulled into their driveway. Parker sighed in relief. "Good. I didn't know if Sam would be okay with sneaking around your mother with it."
Kristina put the car in park and they got out.  "I think she understands where we're coming from, but she understands mom's view too. Thankfully we as sisters have an unbreakable code! She has to keep my secrets!"  Parker laughed as Kristina finally found which key unlocked the door and they went inside.
"You really need to sort your keys out babe," Kristina told her. "It took me ten minutes to get in the house earlier." She handed her the keys. "Or we could just get you your own set." Parker replied, taking the keys and tossing them in the bowl on the entry way table. "I meant to have one made for you the other day, but it slipped my mind. We can do it tomorrow when we go get you some new pants."
"Works for me. Do I get a car key too?" Kristina asked. Parker wrapped her arms around the younger woman's waist. "I don't see why not. You drive it just as much as I do." She told her, leaning down for a kiss that was met with a mouthful of smiling teeth. She didn't complain. "Ugh, you are just too cute sometimes." She told her. "Thank you for agreeing to marry me."
Kristina put her arms around Parker's neck. "Thank you for being you." She replied. She took her future wife by the hand and let her to the couch. "Now, let's watch The L Word." She said, grabbing the remote and turning on Netflix. "Why am I not surprised?" Parker replied smugly. "Oh shut up, you know you love it." Kristina told her as she leaned back into the taller girls arms, cuddling up for the show. "Correction, I love you. The L Word isn't bad, I've just seen every episode a million times." Parker said. "Well then, I guess it's gonna be a million in one now." She said, wrapping her girlfriends arms around her and grabbing the blanket of the back of the couch. Parker rolled her eyes but laid back so that Kristina could be more comfortable. She really didn't care what they watched. She knew that within twenty minutes, Kristina would fall asleep anyway.
She was right. Before long she heard the tiny little breaths exiting the other girl's mouth. She shut off the TV and tried to wake her sleeping angel (or demon at times, depending on how tired she was).
"Honey," She said, playing with her hair trying to wake her up. "Let's go to bed now, okay?" She told her. All she got out of her was something along the lines of, 'It's not time for work yet'. She decided it was best to not wake her and bent down to lift the smaller girl off the couch. She really was as light as a feather. Kristina opened her eyes briefly, just long enough to see Parker carrying her to bed, and then she was out again. She put her on the bed and got in beside her before turning out the light.
"I love you.'' She told the sleeping girl. Kristina rolled over and onto Parker's chest. "Love you too." She told her.  Even in her sleep said it back. Parker had no idea how she had gotten so lucky, but she did, and she was thankful for it.
