"Kristina!" Lorraine exclaimed upon seeing them. "And Parker of course." She said smiling genuinely at her daughter. "Dave had told me you were coming, but he didn't say this soon. I do hope your daddy hasn't sent you into a panic for no good reason." She said to Parker, bringing them inside the house. Parker gave her mother a stern look. "I'm pretty sure you passing out again gives us all plenty of reason to worry mama." She told her reaching down fo a hug.
Lorraine was an older lady, in her mid seventies or so, but she looked young for her age. Or at least she used to. Parker noticed her normally darkened hair had gone almost white and she seemed to be a little pale and out of breath, even if she did hide it well.
"How are you feeling Ma?" She asked as they were lead into the den to be seated. Lorraine shrugged her shoulders. "I'm here aren't I? So I guess I can't complain. Now you on the other hand," She said turning to face Kristina. "I hear I am to welcome you to the family now." She told her, eying the ring. "It looks good on you honey." She said, patting her future daughter in law's hand. "It's about time she found someone that wasn't a trashy-" "MOTHER," Parker interrupted. Kristina and Lorraine both laughed. "Sorry, sorry! At least I like this one!" She said with a smile.
Kristina looked over at Lorraine. "Well I like you too obviously. I get along better with you than I do my own mother on most days." Parker nodded her head. "I can vouch for that," Parker chimed in. "I'm glad you're doing okay Lorraine, we've both been worried sick. Did you get your results back yet?" Kristina asked. Lorraine shook her head. "Not yet, but I should get them in the next day or two. I'm telling you two, you're worried for nothing. It's probably just my blood pressure or something. I'm just getting old, and these things tend to happen."
"Who's getting old? I know you have to be talking about me now." Dave said, popping in from the hall. Parker got up and went over to hug her father. "Daddy! I've missed you!" She said holding onto him. "I've missed you too pumpkin. Where's my other favorite daughter?" He asked looking around before spotting a grinning Kristina. "Oh! There she is!" He said as he met her with a hug. "Hey Dave! How have you been?" She asked, kissing his cheek. "I've been alright. The missus is keeping me busy, as usual. Currently fixing a pipe in the bathroom. It's good to see you kid," He told her. "I'll see all of you lovely ladies at dinner." He said before walking back down the hall.
"He's a good liar," Lorraine told them. "But a prideful man. You couldn't pay the guy to take his vitamins. He's always like 'I don't need all that poison in my body...That's what's wrong with people these days, always gotta take a pill for everything' and I'm just like DAVE TAKE THE DAMN IRON SUPPLEMENT."  Parker and Kristina were both giggling again by this point. "The said thing," Parker said, "Is that I can totally see this happening." Kristina nudged Parker in the ribs. "I can see where you get your stubbornness from." And Lorraine gave her a smirk. "You have no idea. You should see them when they want to have different food for holiday dinners. I'm caught in the crossfire. I claim Switzerland.'' Lorraine joked.
"Okay, but to be fair, dad always got to choose." Parker said with a pout. "Well I guess it's a good thing you can start holding it at your house sometimes now, seeing as all of Kristina's family is in Port Charles." Lorraine replied. Kristina hopped in. "Oh yeah, so about that...Do you and Dave want to do Christmas at our house this year?" She totally hadn't even ran that by Parker yet, but she wanted both of their families to be there.  "We can pay for your plane tickets."
She looked at Parker, who thankfully didn't seem to be upset with her overstepping. She was actually smiling. "Yes! Mom that's a great idea. We can get both families together and have a big, giant, dinner!" Parker exclaimed. Yup, Kristina was in love. Parker even shared her same thoughts. She laughed aloud at the thought.
Lorraine tipped her head side to side in a thinking manner. "I'll talk to Dave, but I'm sure he'll be fine with it. It won't be long until Christmas. Just a couple of weeks. Maybe he'll have that darn sink fixed by then." She joked
