Kristina stared down at the woman kneeling before her, with a ring no less. For the first time in her life, she was actually at a loss of words. She knew what she wanted to say, but her mouth didn't seem to be working. She was in shock.
"I realize," Parker began, "That this may a bit sudden. I completely understand if you don't want to, or if you just want to wait, or if you don't want to-"
"You already said that," Kristina said, getting her words back, moving in closer to the other girl. "Obviously I'm going to say yes. You already know I love you. I thought I had made that abundantly clear. I was just caught off guard is all." She explained.
Parker leaned forward and put the ring on the smaller girl's finger. "I love you too, and I really just couldn't picture having a future without you. I knew I was going to have to ask sooner or later, might as well do it now. The timing with everything going so well, I just thought now would be better." She explained.
"Well your timing is perfect,". Kristina said, leaning in for a slow kiss. " I love that you got this room by the way. It still looks the same and everything, add a couple roses." She said smiling into it.
"Well, I'm glad you agree," Parker replied, pulling back slightly. "What do you think of the ring?" She asked. Kristina held her hand out to look at it. It was beautiful really but not like one of those that you see in the wedding photos. It had black stones in it and a sliver band. It was something she was certainly never taking off.
"I love it! It's gorgeous, and totally not the normal ring. Where did you get this?" She asked her new fiancée. Parker backed away and walked over to pour them some wine.
"It was my grandmother's. My mother absolutely hated my ex, but she most love you. because when I mentioned the proposal, she brought it right out." She explained with a smile. "I was very surprised, but thrilled." She told her, handing her a glass.
"I'm glad. Your mother is a very sweet woman and it's been a pleasure to have been able to meet her. We'll have to go visit her soon, maybe when get the the rest of our stuff." Kristina said as she took the drink and raised it.
"Sounds like a good plan to me." Parker replied, clinking their glasses together. "I can't believe we're getting married." Kristina took a sip of her wine. "Me either. I don't think I've ever been this happy." She said, smiling like a giddy child.
It was one of the reasons Parker loved her so much. Kristina made her feel the same way. She could literally laugh until she cried with that woman every day. She was everything that she couldn't find in anyone else. She didn't care if they lived in Oregon, or Port Charles. It couldn't matter less to her as long as her now soon to be wife had that smile on her face.
"I love you, in case you didn't know." She told her giving her another quick kiss. Kristina rolled her eyes. "Really? I seriously had no idea," She joked leaning in for a couple more.
"As much as I would love to keep this little thing we've got going, we're gonna have to come back. Don't hate me but.... We have to go downstairs." Parker said pulling away, leaving a pouty Kristina still lingering in the air. "Sorry. I promise you'll love it though." She told her, giving the whiny girl another kiss to hush her up before pulling her to her feet. "The night isn't over yet." Parker explained.
"The surprises just keep coming don't they?" Kristina asked, walking towards the hotel room door with Parker on her heels.
"Oh honey, you have no idea." Parker replied as they walked out the door and it shut behind them.
