They were on their way to a local festival when Max's phone rang. He held up a finger to signal for them to stop walking and he answered the call. "Hey boss. Is everything aright back home?" He asked him. Kristina and Parker tried to listen in, but they couldn't hear anything Sonny was saying. "Is she really?" Max continued. "Yes, sir. I'll get on it right away boss. Don't worry, I have it covered." He said into the phone before hanging up. "Change of plans ladies. I have to escort you back to the safe house." He told them.
Kristina and Parker looked at one another in confusion. "Care to tell us why?" Kristina asked Max, who was now guiding both of them back towards the boat. Max scrunched his face up a little. "I'm not really supposed to say Ms. Corinthos," He replied. "Strict orders from Sonny himself. I'm just supposed to make sure the both of you get back to the safehouse safely." Parker took her wife's hand. "Let's just go honey." She told her. "We can just do some more stuff tomorrow okay?" Kristina looked at Max now. "Just so you know, I'm calling him when we get back. It's bullshit that we've only been on OUR honeymoon for not even a full day and he's already got us on lockdown." Max nodded his head. "I understand your frustration Ms. Corinthos. I'm just doing as I'm told. I hope you understand as well." He told her, helping them get onto the boat that they had made it back to.
The trip back was a quiet one. With a fuming Kristina and a bodyguard that apparently was doing his job right this second, Parker felt award and just stayed silent. She didn't really think anything she could say to the woman she loved could help. She understood Kristina's frustration, she really did, but she also understood Max's. She would never tell the smaller girl, but she was glad Max was going to keep Kristina safe. She didn't care much about her own safety, but when it came to Kristina's, she would do just about anything. Thankfully they had Max for that.
They got back to the safehouse and Max locked it down with the alarms. "I hate to do this to you newlyweds, but I've been instructed to stay in the house with you tonight. Please understand this is not my decision." He explained. Parker spoke for Kristina. "Thank you Max. Can we still go freely inside or are we supposed to stay close by?" She asked him. "You can go wherever you would like, as long as it remains indoors." He replied. "There are COMS all throughout the house and there are security measures set up as well. If you need me, you can get ahold of me that way." Parker nodded. "Thanks Max."She said before grabbing Kristina's hand and pulling her into another room.
"Hey," Parker said, looking down at the smaller girl who was now very clearly trying not to cry. "It's okay honey, really. He's just doing his job." She said kissing the top of her head. "Please don't cry." She told her, leading her to the couch in the room they had walked into. It was apparently a library of some sort. Kristina shook her head. "I don't think you get it Parker. I didn't want this kind of life for us," She began, tears now beginning to fall. "I don't want to be the reason you are in danger EVER. I love you and we've been married what? Half a day? And we already have to be stuck in the house for some stupid reason." Kristina explained. Parker wiped the tears from the eyes of the girl she loved. "You," She said, taking Kristina's face in her hands. "Are not the responsible for the actions of other people. Whatever is going on is NOT your fault Kristina." She told her. "I need you to believe that. Nothing could ever happen to make me stop loving you okay?" Kristina leaned her face into the hands of her wife, still crying, although not as hard now. The tears were easing up.
"I'm going to find out what's going on." She told Parker, pulling out her phone. "This is such bullshit. I swear to god-" She began but was cut off. "You should probably take a few deep breaths first." Parker told her, wiping the rest of her tears away and pulling her head to her chest. She began a petting motion with the back of Kristina's head until she felt like she was a little calmer. "Alright now." She told her, kissing the other girl's forehead. "Would you like me to leave the room?" She asked. Kristina shook her head no. "We're married now. No secrets. I'd just end up telling you what he says anyway." She said dialing the number. "Hey princess," He said upon answering. "I'm sorry about all the-" "What the hell is going on dad? And don't you dare lie to me." She said. There was a pause at the other end of the line but then a sigh.
"It's Nelle, Kristina. She's been spotted on the island you were just on. Just stay put a little bit and let Max do his job." "But dad-" Kristina tried to say but was cut off. "No buts Kristina, now do what I said and stay put. I'm sorry that she's pulling this now of all times, but you know how she is. I love you Princess. Max will take care of it and then you and the professor can get back to your trip okay?" "Fine. Love you too." Kristina said hanging up the phone.
"Of course the cause of all of this would be Nelle. I'll deck her in the face myself I swear to god Parker, like you don't even understand." Kristina told her, getting all red faced and worked up again. Parker looked at the brunette now pacing the library floor and decided she might as well ask. "Who the hell is Nelle?"
