Parker and Kristina walked into the house they had been living in while they were still in Oregon. Dave and Lorraine owned it and it wasn't very far from their house, so it wasn't that much more of a walk.
"I see they my mother has done all the packing for us," Parker said, as she looked at all the boxes and what nots all around the kitchen and living room. Kristina walked into the bedroom. "Yeah but at least the bed is still here," Kristina said with a laugh. "We need to figure out how we're gonna get all this stuff home." She told Parker, walking back into the living room, stacking boxes as she went.
"I was thinking about that earlier. We might have to drive home...with a U-Haul." Parker stated with lack of enthusiasm. Meanwhile Kristina had obviously found it hilarious because she had busted out laughing.
"That is so stereotypical!" She said, wiping tears from her eyes. "Mom's gonna have a hay day with that one." Parker gave her a look. "Okay, okay. But seriously, all jokes aside, we probably should do something like that. We have to take the bed for the guest room, dressers, furniture, everything under the sun, and so on." Kristina said with a smile, stealing a quick kiss.
"We can stay for mom's test results and then I'll book one," Parker explained. "I just want to make sure she's okay, and I know she'll lie to me about it if I'm not around when she gets them." Kristina hugged the other girl. "She seemed okay tonight, so maybe it was just the flu or something? Hopefully nothing too bad.''
"You're probably right," Parker said, giving the smaller girl a slight squeeze. "I'll just feel much better when I see the results myself. Now," She began. "We should probably start getting all of this ready to go if we want it to be out of here by tomorrow night." She walked into the kitchen and grabbed two beers and came back and handed Kristina one.
"I see the fridge has remained untouched." Kristina said, popping her cap off. Parker nodded her head. "And it smells like ass in there too." She replied with a gag face. "You get to  clean that out by the way. Either that or I'll just throw everything in there away."  Kristina shot her a thumbs up. "How bout that? 'Cause I'm totally not touching that thing if it smells like death." Parker laughed. "Oh my god," She said shaking her head.
Suddenly, Kristina's face got all scrunched up. "Crap," She said pulling out her phone. "I didn't call mom before or after we landed." She had completely forgotten about her conversation with Alexis that morning. Parker squeezed her hand. " On that note," She said to Kristina, "I'm gonna go work on moving the boxes from the bedroom into the hallway." She kissed the cheek of the smaller girl before racing off, making sure she wasn't caught up in the wrath of her future mother in law when the call was placed.
Kristina looked up at the sun clock they had, still hanging on the wall. She was going to have to remember to take that down, she thought to herself.  It was getting pretty late, already past 10. She dialed her mother anyway. She knew she was still waiting by the phone. She answered on the second ring.
"Mom before you start, I'm really, like really really, sorry. I swear I just got caught up with dinner." Kristina explained before Alexis could do more than breathe into the phone. "You said you would call me, Kristina. I didn't know if something had happened to you or-" Alexis began but was cut off. "We walked to Dave and Lorraine's house. They had released her early from the hospital and we're waiting to see her test results tomorrow, then we'll be coming home." Kristina explained. She heard her mother looking for words. "Well... as long you're safe I guess. So you two are coming back tomorrow then?" Alexis asked. "That's the plan so far. We have to load up a moving truck and drive home though. Lorraine had already packed up most of the stuff in our house, but we still have a little. We're at the house now." Kristina replied. "That being said, I should probably go help Parker with what she's doing before she hurts herself." Kristina looked down the hall after hearing some odd grunting noises, which she assumed came from her fiancée lifting a little more weight than she should.  "Alright honey, just let me know when you get back. Love you." Alexis told her before hanging up.
"Babe, what the heck are you doing?" Kristina asked, walking into the bedroom to find Parker trying to drag the dresser across the floor. "Boxes, Parker. You said boxes, not dressers." Kristina told her, grabbing hold of the other end. "Most of the boxes are out of here now." Parker replied as they walked it through the hallway and sat it down against one of the walls in the living room.
"She wasn't really that mad you know," Kristina told her. "You don't have to run everytime my phone rings." Parker led Kristina to the couch they used to sit on before moving back to Port Charles.  "I know," Parker replied, not really knowing what else to say. Kristina sat down on her lap. "I'm serious. You aren't going anywhere, but neither are they. You guys have to learn how to coexist." She explained. Parker noted the sad expression on the face of the girl she loved.
"How about this? I can't speak for Alexis or anyone else, but I promise I'll make a better effort okay?" She reassured her, cupping her cheek in her hand. "I know it's frustrating enough for you without all the stress between your mother and I. Granted, you have to give us this: she and I have came a long way since we first met." Kristina smiled at that thought. "Oh yeah, most definitely." She said resting her forehead on the other girl's. "So what do you say? One more round in the bed before it's put in the guest room?" Kristina asked, getting off Parker's lap. "Thankfully we have new sheets." Parker replied with a laugh as she followed the love of her life to their old bedroom.
