The next few days went by fast, with all the work and then unpacking. Sunday came up on them before they knew it. "Honey," Parker began as she tore down the last of the boxes that they had left from the move. "I want to talk to you about something." Kristina looked up from the paperwork she was going over for work. "What's up babe?" She asked, putting her pen down and giving her future wife her full attention.
"I've been thinking," Parker informed her. "What if we put off getting married for a little bit?" Kristina suddenly had hurt in her eyes. "You don't want to marry me? Why?" The smaller girl asked. Parker shook her head. "No, that's not what I mean. Of course I want to marry you. I was just thinking that my parents would be coming into town next week. My parents are old Kristina, and they won't get to see this happen again. Thankfully they missed the first one," She said out loud, although the second part wasn't exactly intentional. "I'm pretty that was just because they hated my ex."
The look in Kristina's eyes softened a bit. "I can understand that," She admitted. "For a moment there, I thought you had changed your mind." She confessed. Parker walked up to her and gave her one of those sweet and light kisses that she loved. "Nothing is gonna change my mind about this Kristina. Well unless you change yours," She joked, leaning in for another kiss. "If I was gonna give up on this, I would have done so back in the very beginning." Kristina replied, returning the kiss and backing away. "However," She added, "Now we have an actual wedding to plan. And in a week. Shit."
Parker pulled out the planner on her laptop. "It doesn't have to be anything ginormous or anything like that." She told her. "Ginormous?" Kristina asked with a laugh. "Nice choice of words there babe." She teased. "Do you have any ideas about what you would like to do?" Parker shook her head. "Not really, no. I just know I don't want to get married in a church. The Metro? The park? It has to be somewhere we can get access to fast." Parker told her.
"I like the idea of the park, as long as there isn't too much snow. I think it would be pretty." Kristina replied with a smile. "I also know someone who would officiate the wedding. He'd be overjoyed if I asked him.'' Parker looked confused. "Who would that be?" She asked. "Oh that's right, you haven't met him yet. Spinelli."
Parker was in the bedroom placing calls, while Kristina was in the living room making some of her own. First on the list was Sam, whom she had to update on the change of plans.
"Hello?" Sam answered on the 3rd ring. "Hey Sam," Kristina said into the phone. "How's your morning going?" She asked, as she heard Jason playing with the kids in the background. "Well, it's going." Sam replied with a laugh. "What's up?"
Kristina filled her in on the new plan. "That sounds much better than the original idea." Sam told her. "It's nice that you guys are going to have Parker's parents there as well. From what you've told me, they seem to be sweet people." "They really are. Parker is in the other room on the phone with them now. I need your help with something else though." She told her sister. "I need you to help me figure out how to tell mom that the wedding is going to be way sooner than she thought it would be. Care to join me on a visit to our darling mother's house?" Kristina asked her older sister. Sam agreed and said she would have Jason sit with the kids for a couple of hours and told her she'd meet her at Alexis's house.
Kristina went into the bedroom, where Parker was still on the phone. At least it seemed to be going well. She was all lost in conversation and hadn't even noticed Kristina standing there. "Hold on daddy," She told Dave. "Give me 2 seconds." She said before muting her end of the line. "How'd it go baby?' She asked the girl in the doorway.
"I just got off the phone with Sam. I'm about to go meet her at mom's so she can help me tell her. Are you gonna be okay at home by yourself for a little while?" She asked. "I'm a grown woman, I'm sure I'll be fine." Parker replied, taking the offered kiss that was given as Kristina grabbed the car keys off the table. "Alright, alright. I love you." Kristina told her, giving her another tiny little kiss. "I love you too," Was the reply she got. "Let me know how it goes with Alexis and Sam." Kristina nodded in agreement before letting her future wife get back to talking to her father and walking out of the house to meet up with her sister.
