"Diane!" Kristina exclaimed, jumping up and running to hug the best defense attorney she'd ever met, who was also Max's wife. "How have you been?" She asked?
"I've been well, although from what I've heard, your lovely lady friend hasn't been as lucky." Diane replied. "Do you mind if I take her away from you for a minute? There is something I'd like to discuss with her."
Kristina looked at Parker, who had came up behind her. "I'll be right back." She was told, and her girlfriend went to another room with the lawyer to talk.
"Thanks for calling her." Kristina told her father. "She told me she didn't want me to interfere, but I think as long as it's legal, she won't have an issue with it."
"That's understandable," Sonny replied. "Diane shouldn't have an issue getting those conditions lifted. She seems to always think of something." He joked. She knew he was referring to all of the times she'd helped Jason and himself. She'd been both of their attorneys throughout most of the chaos. She was definitely one of the great ones when it came to her job. She hated to lose, and she rarely did.
"I'm just grateful for all you and mom have done for us lately, even if it is just so I would move closer to home," She said with a laugh. "With the new house and everything, we have a lot of work cut out for us. This might help cut down the stress level a little."
"I've said it before and I'll say it again. Anything for my little girl." He told her with a smile.
"I'm not going to lie to you though, I am thrilled to have you back." Carly sat down next to Sonny and hopped in the conversation. "Me too! I'm so glad you are safe and in one piece." She said with a smirk. "Try not to take off like that again, you worried the hell out of all 3 of your parents. I can't stand Alexis, but I completely get why she was freaking out." She said with a nod of her head and that face she was so well for making. Carly would always be Carly.  Kristina rolled her eyes.
"Yeah, yeah." She smirked. "But we're here now! And if things go right with Diane, it's only up from there. Parker and I will be set."
"I heard my name, please tell me it was in regards to good things." Parker said, as she and Diane walked back into the room to eat.
"It's almost like you are psychic or something," Kristina joked with her partner. "But yes, always good things, love."
"Good," Parker said as she sat down next to her. "I'd hate for your father to hate me before I've had a chance to even mess up yet." She joked. "Well aside from taking her to Oregon, but I think we can all agree that it wouldn't have done anyone any good to tell her no. She probably would have just hid in my backseat until I got there then popped out like 'Hey! You forgot something.' "
That earned her a laugh from both Sonny and Carly. They obviously knew just how true that statement was.
"Your girlfriend has a valid point," Sonny said, looking at his daughter. "You are VERY impulsive. You get it from your old man."
Kristina smiled because she knew it was true. She looked at Parker. "However I wouldn't have been a stowaway. You just wouldn't have been able to get me out of the passenger seat." She stated. "Don't underestimate my size."
"Oh calm down dear. We all know you're a tiny raging ball of fire." Parker said with a laugh. "But I do believe your version would have been more accurate."
Diane was down at the other end of the table speaking with Michael when her phone rang.
"Hello?" She answered. "Well I'm kinda in the middle of something- No I - Oh fine. I'm on my way." She said as she ended the call. "It seems I've been called into work. I've just gotten a new case and it seems to be urgent that I meet with my client NOW. Sorry to eat and run but money is money of course. I'll see you two in a few days," She said, talking to Parker and Kristina. "Sonny, please make sure my husband actually eats something? You know how he gets when he's working." Sonny gave a chuckle and shook his head. "I'll do what I can Diane, but you know how he is. No promises." Diane gave him a look. "Tell him he has to eat or he's out of a job. Problem solved." She said. "And this is why I hire you." He replied with a grin and she walked out the door with a wave goodbye and left.

"So did you and Diane figure something out?" Kristina asked as they made their way to the car. Dinner was great, but both of them were more than ready to leave. Family dinners and all that.
"Yeah, I think so. I just have to keep you off campus until it settles in court, but she's pretty set on winning. It probably won't even have to be in open court. She's got some defense about how it discriminates against my sexual orientation and that there's legally no reason for me to have to hide my relationship with you. You aren't a student there, and you aren't a minor. She thinks she's got enough dirt on the dean as far as homophobia goes, so she's already thinking we've won and it hasn't even been done yet." Parker explained.
"I'll tell you this now. If Diane says she's got this case in the bag, she does. She really is the best in her field. If she can keep my dad out of Jail, she can get those conditions lifted with no problem." Kristina informed her. "Now I have another question."
Parker opened the passenger side door for the other girl so she could get in the car. "What's that?" she asked. "What do you think about moving in the house today?" Kristina said. Parker looked at her girlfriend. "We haven't gotten a bed yet. How are we gonna sleep there without the bed?"
Kristina thought it over. "Let's just use mine from my mom's house. We can put the one from Oregon in one of the guest rooms when we bring it back." She told her.
"I guess we could do that. We have to grab a couple more things from Alexis's house anyway." Parker replied. "To your mother's house we go?"
"Yes ma'am!" And off they went.
