Chapter 48: Phone Call

The chipmunks and chipettes just got home from the picnic. They are super happy about how they spent their time. As Dave put the basket on top of the table the phone suddenly rung. Dave is about to answer it but it stopped

"Okay guys you go and wash yourselves up before going to bed, stay hygienic" Dave said and every nods their head

"Okay Dave" Theodore said

"Thanks but no need to remind me.. Alvin needed it though" Simon said

"Hey I wash myself up before going to bed" Alvin said.

"We'll just see you tomorrow then" Jeanette said

"Becareful on your way out girls" Dave said

"Thanks Dave" Eleanor said "Bye Alvin, Theodore, Simon" She added smiling while walking away. Once the chipettes are no longer in sight the chipmunks bid goodnight to Dave and went up to their rooms. Dave went to the kitchen and turned on the water boiler. He brought out the ingredients for coffee and his mug. The water started boiling so he unplogged the boiler. He pour some on his mug and started mixing the ingredients. After that he took a sip and started walking towards his office. Once he put the mug down the rain started pouring and a thunder erupted. He went near the window and saw how strong the rain and wind is. So he shut the curtains. "Thunder Storm" He muttered. Suddenly just as he sat down the phone rung. He tilted his head a bit since its already 10:00 pm and left to take the call.

"Can please someone close the curtains?" Theodore asked shivering

"I'm not standing up I just lay down.. Si you're the closest" Alvin said making Simon grumble

"Fine" Simon said

"Do you think the Chipettes are finally asleep?" Theodore asked worried that they might get scared of the thunderstorm

"I'm not sure but they are tough Theo" Simon said to reassure his caring brother with a small smile which theodore copied.

"Goodnight guys" Alvin said

"Good night" Theodore responded

"Sleep well" Simon added and Alvin turned the lights off.

At the same time...

"Hello, this is the seville residence how may I help you?" He asked..

"Hello David?" The speaker asked

"Yes this is David Seville" Dave answered back he can't help but think that his voice sounds familiar "Dr.John?" So he asked

"Yes this is me, I call to tell you something about our patient in your care.... Brittany Anne Miller" He said

"Yes what about her?" Dave asked with worry but he is really hoping he'd hear a wonderful news

"Well, Brittany...." As Dr.John keeps on speaking tears suddenly fell down on Daves Cheek his expression can't be read

While sleeping the chipmunks suddenly heard a loud noise from Daves room.

"What's that?!" Theodore asked shocked

Suddenly they heard quick movements, like someone is looking for something.

"A burglar?" Alvin asked

"I'll check you guys stay here" Simon said

"I'll come with you Si" Alvin said

"Its too dangerous you have to stay with theodore so he won't get scared" Simon told him as he jumped out of his bed

"We're all in this together bro" Alvin said

"You mess with one of us... You mess with all of us" Theodore said bravely

"Okay fine" Simon said and the two followed him out the door.

"Keep quiet" Alvin whispered

"You're the one who just made a noise Alvin" Simon whispered back

"He's probably just Nervous the reason why he can't help but to atleast whisper something" Theodore whispered

"No I'm not" Alvin quickly covered his mouth as he said it out loud while on instinct Theodore and Simon shush him putting their fingers on their mouth which is also a mistake because its loud. They then started tiptoeing.. As they reaches daves door. Alvin is about to jump to open the door when the door opened..

"Hey burglar you ain't going anywhere!" Alvin yelled but...

"Dave?" They all asked. They then saw him crying..

"Why are you all dressed up Dave?" Theodore asked

"What's wrong?" Simon asked

"I'm going to Grant's Psychological Center... I'm going to see.. Dr.John" Dave said

"Brittany's Doctor? So you'll be seeing her as well? I want to come" Alvin said

"But why are you crying?" Theodore said and that's when everyone got worried..

"Its just... Brittany's...."

Everyone widened their eyes and become teary. They all run to hug dave while crying...

What happened to Brittany? To be continued...
