"Just sign these papers and Daniel will be good to go." The nurse handed Keri and Jeff a few papers to sign while I sat next to Daniel on the bed.
"You excited to go home?" I asked, grabbing his hand.
"Very, I can't wait to see everyone. And my bed, oh how I miss my bed."
"I have a feeling you and your bed will be getting a lot of alone time while you recover."
"Alright Daniel, here are your clothes, we'll leave you alone for a minute while you change. If you feel dizzy or like you're gonna throw up just say something and one of your parents can come in." The nurse handed Daniel his bag of clothes as me, Keri, and Jeff left the room.
"Thank you Kourtney. For taking care of him," Keri said, giving me a hug.
"He's my best friend, the only thing I know how to do is protect him and take care of him."
"He talks about you, all the time when he's home. He really likes you, Kourtney," Jeff said, taking a step forward.
"I like him too." I was snapped out of my thoughts by the nurse pushing Daniel out of his room in a wheel chair.
"Ready to go home?"
"You know it."
"Sore?"
"Very, yes."
"He will probably have trouble walking or sitting up for the next week, and headaches from the coma. We already called in some pain medicine and medicine for the headaches, all you need to do is pick it up." The nurse handed Jeff a few papers and started to push Daniel towards the parking garage as I walked beside him, holding his hand the while time.
-
"Did you guys finally get him comfortable?" Jack asked, handing me a water bottle.
"Yeah, he's out like a light. Keri and Jeff already left, they had to do something for their jobs."
"Do you want something to eat?"
"No thanks. I think I'm gonna go home for a little while, though. I'll probably come back later tonight."
"Okay, text or call us if you need us."
"Alright, bye." I grabbed my bag and called an uber.

I walked into my house and saw Brody and Nadia on the couch watching a movie. I went upstairs, being careful not to disturb them, and laid down on my bed. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and texted the author.

kourtneyofficial_: I love him.
theauthor: He loves you too.
kourtneyofficial_: probably not in the same way.
theauthor: do you remember that time when you told me the story that happened a few days before the second letter? Daniel took you to one of the only places he kept to himself. He tried to show how he really felt, that he liked you more than a friend. You said you didn't feel the same about him. Then you said that he told you he would try to loose his feelings and only see you as a friend. Feelings like that don't go away that easily, Kourtney. Remember the first time you told me about West? The way you talked about him, you really liked him. But the way you talked about Daniel was always so much more. I could tell you loved Daniel even before you knew it yourself. He still loves you. You love him.
kourtneyofficial_: You really think that?
theauthor: I know that.
kourtneyofficial_: We can't be together. Atleast not right now. He just got out of the hospital, and we both have our careers. The band is about to leave for six months and go on tour. I am doing things with my own career here in L.A.
theauthor: Maybe you are both busy now, but trust me, it will work out.
kourtneyofficial_: how can you be so sure?
theauthor: just trust me on this.
kourtneyofficial_: I can't
theauthor: You can't because you are scared to trust people. After West, and Hayden, and Natalie, it can be hard. But trust me, don't worry, it will work out. Right now, just stay friends, and don't let him do anything stupid.
kourtneyofficial_: Okay.
theauthor: Okay.

I set my phone down on my nightstand and went into the bathroom. I took a shower and changed into some sleep shorts and an oversized t-shirt, I think it was one of Jonah's he had left here at some point. I laid down in my bed and went to sleep.
