Chap 2 - The Contract

Yoongi can't believe what he is hearing at the moment. 'What the hell is this? A genie? Am I in some sort of a dream? Oh my God, what is happening in his world?'

"Is this some sort of dream? Hey, pinch my cheeks. I need to check whether all of this is true or not." Yoongi said, his head spinning in disbelief.

"Yah! That is so rude you know! I am not fictional. Genies are real. Didn't you go to school? It's very obvious that I am real. You can see me, right?" Taehyung said. "You can also touch me." He reached for Yoongi's hand and put it beside his face. Taehyung felt something inside him as Yoongi's hands touched his face, like an electric current travelling inside a cord. He didn't pay much attention to it.

Yoongi quickly pulled his hand from Taehyung's face. "Yeah, I know that. It's just that, everything seemed to happen so fast. It's hard to believe something that you have known all your life to be non-existent."

"That's what's wrong with you human beings. You always believe that other magical creatures, like genies, don't exist because you are the superior ones, always on top of the food chain." Taehyung shot back.  

"Well, you can't blame me. This kind of thing is something new for me." 

"That's true. Now, don't overreact anymore. I am not fictional, okay? You have to start accepting my existence in your world because I'll be staying here for quite some time." Taehyung demanded. 

"Okay okay. I believe in you now. Happy? Now that I realize it, you shouldn't be the one ordering me to do things. I am your master, remember?" Yoongi said and smirked. 

"Yes, MASTER." Taehyung replied, emphasizing the word 'master', sarcasm in his tone. "Oh, before I forget, first things first. I have to explain to you our contract." 

"Okay, proceed." Yoongi ordered. "You sure you're new to this whole master thing? It sounded to me that you're quite good at ordering people around." Taehyung commented. He stuck out his tongue at Yoongi. 

"Yah, just get on with explaining the contract. I need to get some sleep because I have work tomorrow." Yoongi scolded. 

"Okay okay. You are so hot-tempered. Here's the thing. You are now officially my master, since you are the one who signed the contract. The contract is good for a hundred days, and day one starts today. You get to have 10 wishes. Just tell me your wishes and I'll grant them right away. Oh, there are also restrictions about the wishes that I'll be granting. Wishes violating the laws of nature are not allowed. Wishes involving the resurrection of dead people are also not allowed. Let's see, hmm, what are the other restrictions?" Taehyung said. He paused for a while as he recited to himself the restrictions. 

"Laws of nature, resurrection of the dead, hmm, what else have I forgotten?" Taehyung mumbled. "Ah, wishes that involve the killing of people are not allowed." 

"Why the hell would I wish for someone to be killed?" Yoongi said. 

"Aish, that's just part of the restrictions. I didn't say that you would actually wish it. What if I ended up with a murderer as a master? Surely he would wish for something like that." Taehyung answered back. 

"Okay okay. Go on." 

"Next is, wishing for someone to fall in love with you, wishing for two people to fall in love, and wishing for two people in a relationship to break up against their will are not allowed." Taehyung said. 

"Ah. Anything else?" Yoongi asked. 

"Wishing to go back to the past or altering something that has already happened is not allowed. You also can't give your wishes to anyone else. You should be the one to make the wishes. Your ten wishes are valid for a hundred days. You should make your wishes during that time. The wishes that you are allowed to make are exactly ten, so you should give your wishes thorough thinking. Once a wish is made, it cannot be reversed anymore. If the ten wishes are finished, I will disappear in your world forever. So, if you are annoyed with me, you better make your ten wishes fast." Taehyung said, and smiled at the last sentence. 

"So in 100 days you'll disappear? I'll make sure to remember that advice." Yoongi said sarcastically. 

"You better. Now, ready to make your first wish?" Taehyung said, excitement in his voice. He was very excited to grant his master's first wish. 

"Aren't you too excited? Didn't you say earlier to give wishes thorough thinking? I don't have any wish yet. Besides, I still got a hundred days for that. Now, let me get my sleep. I need to wake up early." Yoongi said. He stood up and started walking out of the living room. 

"Okay okay. No need to be grumpy." Taehyung said. "Wait, where will I sleep?" 

Yoongi didn't turn around. "You can sleep there in the couch. Good night." After a few seconds, Yoongi was now inside his room. 

"Hmph. That Yoongi is really a mean one. He didn't even offer me a nicer place to sleep in. I can't believe him! I better prepare myself for a hundred days of suffering." Taehyung said and sighed. He removed his shoes from his feet and lied on the couch. He fell asleep after a few minutes.
