Chap 27 - Pendant Light

Day 82

Yoongi is finally free of the burden he is feeling for the past days and he is now ready to confess his true feelings for Taehyung. He planned a surprise for Taehyung later that night and he just can't hide his happiness and excitement. Yoongi was in a truly good mood as they did their tasked work in the office. 

"Look who's all giddy here." Seokjin teased. "Is something up Yoongi? The other day you were sulking all day at work and now you're all happy. I'm really getting confused here." 

"I'll tell all of you tomorrow." Yoongi smiled mischievously at them. Jimin felt happy for his hyung that he has finally sorted out his true feelings. Jimin was the only one who knew what Yoongi is happy about. 

"Ah, that's so unfair! I wanna know now." Seokjin pouted. 

"Hyung, that cute pout of yours is not going to get you anywhere." Yoongi teased. "Just be patient and wait for my good news tomorrow."

Taehyung's shift at the restaurant was finally over. He was changing his clothes because he was getting ready to go home from work. He bade goodbye to his co-workers and made his way out of the shop. He was just a few footsteps away from the main entrance when a voice called his name. 

"Tae" Hyungsik called. Taehyung looked back and answered, "Yes?" "Uhm..." Hyungsik hesitated. He forced himself to say what he wants to say because it was now or never. "Can you come with me for a while? I have something to say to you." 

"Sure" Taehyung agreed as he got from work pretty early and he was quite sure that Yoongi wouldn't mind him coming back a little bit late.

Yoongi was starting to prepare his surprise dinner for Taehyung. He wasn't quite a good cook like Taehyung but he tried his best to make the food delicious as he made it with love. He was slicing some of the vegetables and hoped that Taehyung won't come back until he was finished cooking.

Hyungsik brought Taehyung on the rooftop of a high rise building. Taehyung was a little bit confused why they were there. He was just about to ask Hyungsik when a pair of strong arms pulled him and held him close. Hyungsik's sudden hug startled Taehyung. 

"Hyungsik, is something wrong?" Taehyung asked concernedly. 

"Tae, let me hold on to you like this," Hyungsik answered. 

"O-okay." Taehyung agreed as he was still confused with Hyungsik's actions. Hyungsik was still gathering all the strength that he needs. After a minute, Hyungsik slowly pulled away from Taehyung and faced him. Taehyung was thankful for that because he felt awkward being held by Hyungsik like that. 

"Tae, listen carefully," Hyungsik said straight into Taehyung's eyes. Taehyung listened intently to Hyungsik's words. "And please just listen first until I finish." 

"Alright." Taehyung smiled assuringly. 

"Tae, the first time that I saw you, I knew that I wouldn't forget that face of yours. You probably don't remember but our first meeting wasn't at the mountain resort." Hyungsik said. Taehyung's face was once again a confused one. Hyungsik continued, "I was the one who you bumped into and gave you a handkerchief as you were walking alone one day. That was the first time I saw you and I guess you didn't remember my face because something was bothering you that day. I thought I wouldn't get the chance to meet you again but I did at the mountain resort." 

Hyungsik paused and took a deep breath. Taehyung finally remembered the incident that Hyungsik mentioned but didn't say anything because he agreed to listen until Hyungsik finishes.
