Chap 22 - Christmas Day

Day 50

The air outside is already cold even if it isn't night time yet. The Christmas breeze can be felt. The day before Christmas, Yoongi set up a little Christmas tree with pretty decorations on one corner of his living room. 

"What's that?" Taehyungg asked curiously as he eyed the little tree. 

"This? It's a Christmas tree." Yoongi answered as he settled the tree on the floor. "You don't know what Christmas is?! I can't believe you don't have it in your world." 

"Hey! No need to overreact." Taehyung defended. "So, what's with this Christmas thing? I really don't know a thing about it. Does it have anything to do with the packed people earlier at the grocery?" 

"Yeah. Christmas is the time of the year where people celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. People decorate their houses during Christmas time. All I have is a tree, but in some houses, they decorate with wreaths, lights, and other Christmas decorations." 

"Why don't you have other decorations? I've seen the houses around here and they really have wonderful decorations outside their houses." Taehyung cut in. 

"Well, first, I don't really have the time to decorate. Second, I don't have the budget for that. Christmas decorations are pretty expensive and Christmas lights will just add to the electricity bill. Plus, Christmas isn't all about pretty decorations." Yoongi answered. 

"Well answered Yoongi." Taehyung teased.

Yoongi wasn't going to spend Christmas with his family because of work. Yoongi invited Jimin, Jungkook, and Seokjin to join him and Taehyung during Christmas. The three weren't also going to spend the holiday with their family because of work. The three would have come over to Yoongi's apartment even if they weren't invited because of Taehyung's food. 

"Isn't Hymine coming over?" Taehyung asked while he stirred the hot and steaming soup on the stove. 

"No. She's spending Christmas with her family." Yoongi answered as he prepared the dining table. 

"Oh. I guess your Christmas is pretty lonely without her." Taehyung commented.

"Well, not really. Even if I'm not with her or my family, I still have you and my three workmates." Yoongi answered. "Come to think of it, I wonder where those three are." 

'I still have you' repeated Taehyung in his mind. He felt his heart beat faster again and didn't hear what Yoongi has said. When Taehyung didn't reply to what Yoongi said, Yoongi glanced at Taehyung to see him with a smiling face as he gazed into nothing. 

"Tae, are you okay?" Yoongi asked. Taehyung snapped out and realized that Yoongi was talking to him. 

"Oh, sorry about that. My mind just caught up with something. What were you saying a while ago?" Taehyung said as he continued stirring. 

"I'm wondering where Jimin and the others are. It's already past seven." Yoongi answered. 

"Don't worry about them. Those three will be here." Taehyung assured. The doorbell suddenly rang. "Speaking of them, here they are." Yoongi went to open the door. 

"Merry Christmas!" the three greeted with smiling faces. 

"Merry Christmas too. Where have you guys been?" Yoongi said as he let the three enter the apartment. 

"We went to buy a cake," Jimin answered and showed a box of cake. 

"We really had a hard time getting here because of Seokjin's greediness. He wanted to eat the cake immediately but Jimin hyung and I guarded it." Jungkook said.
