Chap 25 - New Job

Day 76

Taehyung has already healed himself of his wounds from last night's incident. He was on his way to the market to buy something. On his way, he passed by a new restaurant as he turned on a corner.

The interior of the restaurant was elegantly furnished. Beautiful paintings adorned the walls. The aura inside the restaurant gives off a feeling of calmness and serenity.

'What a nice restaurant.' Taehyung mused as he peeked from the glass windows of the restaurant. He noticed that the place is being readied for the restaurant's grand opening as some workers were arranging tables and putting some more chairs inside.

Taehyung was about to leave when he heard a familiar voice call his name. "Taehyung?" He turned his head towards the direction of the voice which called him and saw that it was Hyungsik. Hyungsik emerged from inside the new restaurant and approached Taehyung.

"Hi, Hyungsik. I didn't expect to see you here." Taehyung greeted.

"Me either. Where are you going?" Hyungsik asked.

"Oh, I was just going to the market to buy something. You? I noticed that you came from inside this new restaurant. Do you work here?" Taehyung asked.

Hyungsik smiled at Taehyung's innocence. "Actually, I own this place." he answered and added, "But, yes, I work here."

"Wow, you really are rich. I should have expected it from you since you are the son of a resort owner." Taehyung complimented.

"Uhm, Taehyung...if you're not in a hurry to go to the market...uhm, will you care to join me and have coffee inside?" Hyungsik hesitated.

"Sure" Taehyung answered.

"Thanks," Taehyung said as Hyungsik set a cup of hot coffee in front of him. He looked around Hyungsik's office on top of the restaurant.

"Your restaurant really looks great," Taehyung said and stirred his cup of coffee.

"Thanks for the compliment. We're trying to finish the place before the grand opening on Friday." Hyungsik replied.

"I'm sure this restaurant will do great."

"I really hope so, Taehyung. Actually, we're kind of having a slight problem because we lack one assistant chef to help the main chef in the kitchen."

"Oh. Isn't anyone interested?"

"Well, our restaurant isn't known yet so those who had the proper education in culinary arts are hesitant to work here." Hyungsik lowered his head and sighed.

"Will you be able to seek one before the grand opening?"

"I'm not sure," Hyungsik answered.

"Don't worry too much. I'm sure things will work out just fine." Taehyung assured and held on Hyungsik's hand as a friendly gesture. Taehyung's genuine smile just brightened Hyungsik's day.

"Thanks for the encouragement," Hyungsik said and smiled back. "Oh, by the way, are you okay now? I thought you had a bruise on your cheek last night..."

"Oh, that." Taehyung cut him off. "You don't have to worry about me. I'm perfectly alright." 'Whoa, Hyungsik is quite observant to remember that I had a bruise even if it was dark on that part of the street.'

"Are you sure? No part of your body is hurting?" Hyungsik pressed.

"Yup. I'm sure." Taehyung assured him.

"Okay. I'm glad you're alright. So, would you care to have a tour of my new restaurant?"

After showing Taehyung the whole office, they descended the stairs to the restaurant. Hyungsik introduced his workers to Taehyung and proceeded to the kitchen. As they entered the kitchen, the chefs that were quite busy greeted and bowed in respect to Hyungsik as he entered. "Good morning, sir."
