"Dammit!" I cursed, throwing the phone away and watched as it landed on the floor. "Damn. Please don't break." I picked up the phone and breathed a sigh of relief when the screen didn't break. "Thank god."

"You're going to break the poor phone one day, aren't you?" Dinah asked, giggling. I laughed away and walked towards the bed where Dinah and Ally sat across each other with a bunch of snacks around them.

"He's not answering my calls," I mumbled, grabbing a KitKat. "It's been hours."

"What did he say when he dropped you home earlier?" Ally looked at me, searching answer.

"Nothing. He just asked me to, 'enjoy'," I sighed.

"Maybe he need time?" Ally suggested.

I shook my head lightly. "He'd never done that."

"Well maybe he does, now?"

"Ally!" I pouted and threw a plastic of KitKat towards her. "That's not helping."

"I'm just saying!" She laughed.

"Give it a break, Camila," Dinah touched my arm. "You're too hard on yourself. Let him be for a while. Make time for yourself. It won't hurt, I promise."

"Dinah's right, you know," Ally nodded her head, agreeing. "It's not worth it. Why don't you just relax for a day and.. let's watch a movie?"

I smiled and let out a sigh. I don't know why, but I thought they were right about it. Maybe I needed time, a break. "Fine. Let's watch a movie. But first, I need to talk to my dad for a while. I'll be back."

"That's our girl!" Ally exclaimed, clapping her hands. I laughed and walked out of my bedroom. I wanted to meet dad to thank him for the whole day he spent with us in the amusement park. It was amazing, and I felt better about everything. It still amazed me how Lauren had actually accepted me in her life and was being so nice. It was the side I'd never got to see since the first time I met her.

Standing in front of dad's office, I took a deep breath and about to knocked the door when I heard mumblings coming from inside. At first, I thought he was talking to his clients even though it was highly unlikely, considering the clock just stopped at 1AM. When I thought it was his client, I decided to walk away and just come back tomorrow, but then I heard a familiar voice.

I stopped my steps and made sure to keep any noises to myself as I went back to his office and placed my ears on the door so I could hear better. The fact that it was 1AM and everyone was asleep made the whole eavesdropping-thing went well for me.

"... how long? Can we just get over this already? I'm tired of pretending, dad," the female voice muttered. I was trying so hard to recognized the familiar voice so I pushed my body closer to the door for a clearer sounds.

"Patience, Lauren."

Lauren? No wonder it was familiar. But what was she doing in dad's office that late? I was already planning on staying a bit longer to hear where the conversation was heading.

"I told you so many times to be patient," dad seemed to said. "He'll be flying tomorrow morning, so I just need you to distract her until then."

"She's already distracted, dad. You just can't get over it."
