I fell asleep cuddled up to Louis. I stirred as I felt myself being picked up, but I didn’t fully wake up. I heard a couple doors being opened and closed before falling asleep again. The next time I woke up, I was warmer than usual. I don’t remember going home. Surely to God if they brought me home, they would’ve found out about my mother. I rolled over into another body. Instead of the body waking up or moving out of the way, it’s arm wrapped around me, and secured me into its side.

I took a deep breath, taking in his cologne. Of course I was in his bed. Why wouldn’t I be? Not only was I in his bed, but I was now cuddled up against him. I looked up at his face. His features were soft. For the first time, I let myself really look at him since he got back. He had a hint of stubble; something he didn’t have a problem with before he left. He had chiseled cheek bones; something I guess puberty played a part in. I felt his arms constrict around me with every breath. He was toned. He had a little bit of muscle before he left, but not like this. I wanted to run my hand down his abs, but we weren’t even like that before he left, let alone now. I stared at his face a little bit longer before letting myself accept that puberty was good to him.

I relaxed, letting his arms constrict a little tighter around me. I closed my eyes, allowing myself to lay here a while longer.

“Thank you.” I heard a whisper. My body tensed when I realized who said it.

I looked up, to see a now smiling Liam. I continued staring until he opened his eyes.

“What?”

“Thank you.”

“I got that much… What for?” I whispered.

“For not getting up.”

“Why would I get up?”

“Because that’s what you do now.”

I looked down, laying my cheek on his chest. One of his hands came up and began flattening my hair.

“I thought you were mad at me?” I whispered.

“Just disappointed.” He sighed.

“Why? It’s my life.”

“Yeah. It’s your life that’s in danger!”

“That’s for me to decide…” I challenged.

“Sometimes it’s best to let the decision be somebody else’s.”

“Even you know that’s not true.” I laughed.

“No. I let many people make many of my choices for me!”

“If you ‘let’ people make your choices for you, then how the hell is that your own life?”

I pushed off him, sitting up right. He followed.

“I don’t ‘let’ people make my choices. You’re seventeen. You need help getting through important decisions!”

“Not necessarily. What if you’re really mature?”

“Oh, bull shit! You play the mature card all the time! Maybe that’s your problem!”

“My problem? I didn’t know I had a problem!”

“Obviously!”

I pushed off the bed, attempting to head for the door when the pain in my side hit. I bent over, trying to get the pain to stop. Liam was at my side in an instant, hunched over me, pulling me back towards the bed.

“Just lay down. You’re still hurt.”

“Get off me.” I shrugged him off. I can’t believe on the car ride home I actually felt bad for being a bitch.

“Come on! Just because I spoke the truth, now you’re all upset?” He whined.

“No. I’m mad because you fucking told me I had a problem!”

He let go of me. I didn’t realize how much weight he was supporting till I had to support it on my own. He began pacing the room, running his fingers through his hair.

“Sarah…” He took in a deep breath. “Damn it.” He cursed under his breath.

I was about to reply, before his phone started ringing. He slid across the bed, answering it on the second ring. I heard a girl’s voice on the other end. I sat back down on the bad, seeing as there was nowhere else to go because I couldn’t walk.

“Yeah, I’ll be down there in a second! I’m so glad you came finally!” He sounded ecstatic.

I was left sitting on the bed. Liam leapt from the bed and ran out the door without another look from me. I sat on the bed, waiting for him to return. I heard a bunch of hellos before I heard footsteps on the stairs again. By the way they were moving fast, I figured they were Liam’s. When he walked back in the room, he looked as if he forgot I was sitting there. He ran his fingers through his hair before I focused in on the stranger from the phone.

She was pretty. She was thin, had beautiful hair along with beautiful skin. She wasn’t anything like me and from what I could tell; she was in no danger of a shitty home life.

“Hi. I’m Danielle.”

“Sarah.” I gave her a weak smile.

“Sorry babe. I forgot she was in here. The second I heard your voice, everything else was out of my mind.”

“Oh stop it!” She was blushing and giggling uncontrollable.

He bent down and kissed her cheek. I felt a stinging sensation in the pit of my stomach along with my eyes. I thanked the Lord when I saw Louis round the corner.

“Hey mate! Danielle!” Oh great. He was excited for her arrival too.

I tried to get his attention without Liam seeing. It’s not like it was that hard. Liam was pretty content with what was at his fingertips. Louis looked at me and in one quick motion, he was by my side.

“Hey, I’m gunna take Sarah and give you all some privacy.”

“Alright. Thanks.”

Thanks. As if Louis was doing me a favor of taking me off Liam’s hands. Seriously? Damn it! I shouldn’t get this worked up over this. Of course Liam has a girlfriend. Why didn’t that ever cross my mind? Why? I know why; because my heart told me we would go back to being the same. But even then, Liam still could’ve had a girlfriend! Liam and I were never dating! Damn it! Why am I so stupid?
