A month a half later, I was over the toilet puking. I collapsed on the floor, letting my body relax before the next round. It must’ve been something I ate. I heard footsteps, and then Louis was at the door.
“You alright?”
“Yeah, just kinda sick.”
“Kinda? You’re in here puking out your organs.”
I laughed as I began to sit up and Eleanor came into view.
“Hey Lou? Can you go feed Colin some breakfast? I need to talk to Sarah for a bit.”
“Sure.”
He left and Eleanor smiled before shutting and locking the door behind her. She grinned before sitting down next to me, leaning her back against the sink.
“How are you doing?”
I assumed she was talking about the Liam situation. After our fight a month ago, he took Danielle and left to go back home. They were reportedly dating again, but from what I heard from Louis, it was still pretend. It didn’t make me feel any better. He promised me he would stay by my side through this, but I shouldn’t be surprised. It was just another lie that he piled on top of the mountain he’s been living on.
We haven’t spoken since, which I suppose is a good thing. Any time we talk, it end in fighting or tears, so there was really no use in it. I began to feel sick again.
I leaned over the toilet and began to gag again, while Eleanor held my hair. Once I was done, I repeated the process by collapsing on the floor for about the hundredth time that morning.
“Can I ask you a question?”
“Yeah.”
“You’ve been here for almost two months. I understand if you don’t wanna talk about this, but how regular are you? Like, your period.”
The blood rushed out of my face. I stared at her blankly. It couldn’t be. There was no way.
“Did you and Liam have_”
She was interrupted by a knock on the door and Louis voice cutting through the door asking if he could just feed Colin the marshmallows out of the cereal. Eleanor shouted at him, telling him to give him the cereal correctly. I couldn’t focus though. He pulled out. There was no way. A tear rolled down my cheek as I considered the possibility.
“Sweetie, it’s okay. Come here.” She pulled me to her chest. “There’s a possibility that you’re not, okay? We’ll go to the doctor tomorrow morning. But can I ask you something? Did you all use a condom?”
I swallowed and shook my head no. I cried into her chest.
“Can we tell Lou? He can help us tell Liam_”
“No!” I pushed away from her.
