I watched from afar as my ex boyfriend practiced his choreography with his group. The straw between my lips as I took a sip out of my drink. Even though I agreed to break off the relationship so he could focus on his schedule, it was killing me inside and I have a feeling he knows. We say everything is okay between us when someone asks but we don't even talk.
"Yah, you can't be drinking that", my friend said as she took away the drink from me.
"I just need something to get my mind off of it", I said, glancing over at Seokmin.
"Well that's not gonna be possible. Stop drinking energy drinks. They're not good for you", she said, setting the drink aside.
I sighed and leaned back until I was touching the wall. My eyes were wandering around but I couldn't help take a few glances at Seokmin. I remember our relationship started off private at first. We'd see each other at his house and watch a few movies. We would never go out because we were afraid that we'd get caught. Then about a month later I was getting tired of sneaking around so I begged and pleaded if our relationship could go public. He agreed and we told his manager. He wasn't alright with it but since it was our decision, he announced our relationship a day later. Things went down a spiral weeks later and we decided to end it.
A ringing shook me out of my thoughts. When I looked at the caller ID, I mentally groaned when it was my father.
"Yes?", I answered.
"You need to come home right now."
His stern voice through the phone had me worried. Was it my mom? Did she lose her job again?
"Why", I asked.
"Just do what I say."
He hung up and left me confused. I put my phone away and began to get my stuff.
"My father wants me home", I told my friend.
"Do you think he knows?", she asked.
"I doubt it", I said.
~~~~~
"How dare you disobey your father like this! We trusted you and look what happened! This is the reason why we didn't want you going out with that boy in the first place!", my father's yells echoed through the halls.
"Why did you go through my stuff??", I asked him.
"Because you give us reasons to. When did you find out?", he asked.
"Yesterday", I answered.
"And how far along are you?", he asked, placing both of his hands on his hips.
"Two months", I said, lowering my head.
"I still can't believe you would do this. Get out. I don't want you living in this house anymore. Obviously you think you're old enough to make these types of choices. Get out. Now!", my father yelled as he pushed me out of the house.
He closed the door in front of my face, leaving me outside in the cold. It was late and had nowhere to go. I had no one to call and my friend doesn't like when I go over because of her boyfriend. Although she cares about me, we're not that close. I had no choice but go to the one place I haven't been in a few weeks.
I stood in front of the brown door. I wanted to knock but hesitated. What if he doesn't want me here? I shook my head and gave myself the courage to knock three times. I waited a few seconds until the door opened, revealing the guy that once loved me.
"(Y/n)? What are you doing here? It's almost midnight",he said, drying his hair with a small towel.
"My parents kicked me out", I mumbled sadly.
He sighed and took a step to the side to let me in. I quickly walked in and examined the room. It's still the same.
"I'll go get you some blankets so I could set up the couch. I'll give you one of my shirts so you could sleep more comfortably", he said before disappearing into the hallway.
I awkwardly stood in the middle of the living room. It's so quiet and dark. The only light they have on is the little desk lamp they have attached to the wall.
"Here", he said as he handed me one of his shirts.
I walked into the bathroom and changed. I washed my face to remove the sweat that lingered around my neck and forehead. When I walked back into the living room, the couch was already set up with blankets.
"If you need anything, let me know. I'll be in the room", he said before turning.
"Wait...can you stay here until I fall asleep? I don't think I'll be able to sleep by myself", I asked as I hugged my clothes.
"Sure", he said.
I put my clothes in a bag and put it next to my shoes. I laid down and pulled the blanket over my body. Seokmin sat down on the other couch, watching me as I struggled to sleep.
"Do you want some water?", he asked.
"No", I mumbled.
The room fell silent. I can tell he was getting impatient because his foot was rapidly tapping on the floor.
"Seokmin? There's something that you should know", I said, sitting up.
"Hm? What's that?", he asked.
I struggled to find the right words. Then I remembered what he told me the day we broke up. He needed some time to be able to focus on his career. He doesn't want to be distracted. I bit my lip softly before lightly shaking my head.
"Um..I don't have money for a hotel", I said.
"That's okay. You can stay here until you figure out what you wanna do", he softly smiled at me.
I nodded and laid back down on the couch. I felt bad for lying to him but its for the best. It's not like he'll be able to commit to something like this. I deeply sighed before closing my eyes to fall asleep.
