Mingyu has been acting weird around you. He will get extremely close to you and even calls himself your boyfriend. It was an odd feeling since you've never really had a boyfriend before. Every time I correct him, especially in front of his friends, he would get a bit upset and act as if he was fine. You weren't sure why he was doing this. Was he teasing you? Does he think that just because you haven't had a boyfriend, it was appropriate to make jokes?

"(Y/n), I bet if I throw this crumpled paper in the trash from where we're standing, I'll make it", Mingyu said, lightly nudging you.

You took your eyes away from your locker and looked over at the trash can to notice it was a bit far.

"You're not gonna make it. Just walk over there", you said.

"Okay look, if I make it, you get to go on a date with me", he said.

"Uh..no no a-anyways that trash can is like twenty feet away. You're not gonna make it so just save i-", you didn't even get to finish your sentence as he threw the paper, landing inside the trash can.

He smirked as he noticed your reaction. He leaned against the lockers, waiting for you to speak. You turned back to your locker and pretended to be fixing your stuff.

"So I'll pick you up,lets say, 6 o'clock? Is that alright with you?", he asked.

"I-I'm busy", you said.

"Okay then maybe tomorrow. It's Friday so we won't have to worry about homework and stuff", he said.

"I-I have a thing to do tomorrow", you said, closing your locker.

"No you don't. (Y/n), it's just one date. It won't hurt", he said.

"Mingyu, we're friends. Don't you like us being friends?", you asked.

His smile disappeared and was replaced by a slight frown. You hadn't noticed though since you began to walk to your first class. He followed behind you, hands in his pockets and gaze on the floor.

~~~
A few days pass. Mingyu hasn't been his self lately. Every time you try to make him laugh, he just nods.
"Mingyu, are you still coming over so we can study?", you asked, placing your books in your locker.
"I can't", he said, leaning against the lockers while using his phone.
"What? Why not? We already planned it. You know there's a big test next week", you lightly groaned.
"I'm busy. I have a thing to do today", he said, putting away his phone.
He took one glance at you before walking away. You realized he said the same thing you did when he asked you out. You closed your locker and quickly went after him. You grabbed his wrist but he just pulled away, continuing to walk.
"Mingyu, I'm trying to talk to you", you said.
"What??", he asked in a frustrated voice.
"What is going on with you? Why are you acting this way?", you asked.
"Oh I don't know. Maybe it's because I've been trying to ask you out for the longest now and you don't seem to have the heart to say yes or have a brain to realize that I like you!", he raised his voice, catching other people's attention.
You stopped walking. Mingyu scoffed and continued to walk. You wanted to go after him but your legs wouldn't move. After processing what he said, you ran towards the front of the school to catch up to him but you couldn't see him anywhere.
You went one way and checked each spot where he hangs out but you had no luck. After looking for an hour, you decided to go over to his house. You knocked a few times but he didn't answer. You kept thinking if he was out somewhere so you sat down on the steps and waited for him.
Another hour passed and you were getting a bit sleepy. The sun already went down and it got cold. You forgot your sweater inside your locker so you were freezing. You rested your chin on your knees and felt your eyes closing until you fell asleep.
~~~

"(Y/n)? (Y/n) wake up."

You felt a hand on your shoulder, lightly shaking you. You opened your eyes and realized Mingyu was kneeling in front of you. You weren't feeling well.

"You're freezing. Let's get you inside", Mingyu said, carrying you into his house.

He placed you on the couch and wrapped a bunch of blankets around you. He went over to the kitchen and put water to heat up.

"What were you thinking?? You could've gotten really sick. What are you even doing here?", he asked, sounding annoyed and concerned at the same time.

"I wanted to talk to you. I don't like the feeling of you being mad at me", you mumbled.

He sat down on the floor, leaning against the couch as he stared at the wall.

"..Mingyu..I don't know why-....it's complicated. I had a feeling that you felt something for me but I thought it was just because I've never experienced what it felt like to have someone like me. And what you and I have, I don't wanna risk losing that", you said.

You reached over to place your hand on his shoulder but he quickly stood up, not taking one look at you. He went back to the kitchen to put the hot water in a mug and placed a teabag in it. He gave you the mug and headed towards his room, closing it without saying anything else.

You felt bad....no..you felt worse than that. You placed the mug on the coffee table and moved the blankets away. You headed towards his bedroom, staring at the white door in front of you. You were about to knock but hesitated. He must want some space so you have it to him. You pulled your hand back and went towards the couch you were sitting on. You folded the blankets and placed the mug on the kitchen counter. You left a note right next to it.

'I'm sorry Mingyu. I still want to talk. Give me a call.'

You headed towards the front door and glanced back for a few seconds before opening it. It started raining so you ran back to your house.
