You looked through the windows of the flower shop, admiring all the flowers and stuffed animals and hearts. It was almost Valentines Day and you always wanted someone to do that whole romantic flash mob or dress up in a mascot costume while holding flowers and a sign or anything over-the-top. You thought it was stupid but you wanted to at least experience how it feels because honestly, you push guys away every time they get close to you because you've never had a boyfriend and the thought of someone liking you made you feel like throwing up. The only romantic gesture anyone has ever done was a stranger handing you a rose. You thought that was sweet until you saw he was handing roses to everyone. You didn't feel special.

You walked towards your house, humming in your head as you passed by people. Your neighbor, who has been your friend since the second grade, was waiting on your porch, sitting on a worn out chair.

"Hey, how'd it go?", he asked, standing up on his feet.

"He didn't show. I waited for three hours. I should've known this was gonna happen. He didn't seem too interested in me", you said, pouting and wrapping your arms around him, hugging as you felt upset about another guy ditching you.

You two were never shy about a kinship. You guys hug a lot and sometimes kiss each other on the cheek. You were comfortable which is a good thing.

He wrapped his arms around you and rested his chin on top of your head. He always comforted you and even felt bad for you. He wishes he could make you happy and smiled as he thought of an idea.

"What do you say you and me go to the festival this weekend? Take your mind off of guys and their stupidity. You deserve to be happy", he mumbled.

"The festival? You mean the Valentines Day festival? You're only allowed in if you're in a relationship. How are we gonna get in?", you asked, pulling away to fix your shirt that was rising up.

"Well...I'm a guy...you're a girl..we can pretend. I mean, we're friends. People already think we're together. Look I just don't want to see you unhappy", he said, cheeks hinting a slight blush.

"Pretend? How? I've never had a boyfriend before. I don't know how things work", you said.

"Well I've been a boyfriend before so don't worry. I'll take care of it", he smiled.

"Uh..okay", you said.

Friday came along and you were struggling to pick out what outfit to wear. That was never a problem for you. You would always have an outfit ready to wear the day before.

After a few minutes of thinking, you chose an outfit and met Seokmin outside of your house.

"Hey, Ready?", he asked.

You drove to the festival and felt nervous. Your fingers kept fumbling around and your heart was beating fast.

Both of you stood in line, waiting for your turn to get in. You slightly blushed as his hand slowly intertwined with yours.

"We have to make it more believable, more real. Act like you're in love with me", he whispered.

"What? H-How do I do that?", you asked, nervous.

"Look at me and smile. We're close to the front", he said, nodding over to where the security guard was standing.

You bit your lip as you were hesitant. But you didn't want to disappoint Seokmin so you built up the courage to look at him and smile. As you looked at him, you never noticed how attractive he looks.

"Next."

As the security guard called out to the next person, you slightly looked away only to look back at him a few seconds later. He is quite beautiful.

Once you passed the security guard, you jumped excitedly, knowing you lied to someone who has higher power than you and you got away with it. What you didn't realize is that every couple around you were either kissing or being lovable with one another, which made you quite uncomfortable.

"Come on, lets get on the rides", Seokmin nudged you.

You didn't think you'd have fun but Seokmin made sure you had a smile on your face. You forgot about the guy who stood you up a few days ago and only thought about the present.

As you got off of the last ride, you felt your stomach growl. Seokmin ordered food as you kept a bench occupied.

"Here you go", he handed you a tray filled with fries that were covered with chili and melted cheese.

"Thanks. For everything. I'm so glad I have you as a friend", you smiled, remembering all the times he has helped you after every date that has failed to show up.

"Right...friends...about that.. I know I give you a lot of advice about how to get a boyfriend but..honestly I didn't really like doing that. The reason why my last relationship didn't work was because..I admitted to her that I had feelings for someone else...someone who I'm close with..someone who I'm comfortable with", he mumbled shyly as he grabbed your hand.

You were quite surprised although you weren't sure if he was talking about you. He shifted his body closer to yours and his eyes were looking straight at you.

"I like you (y/n). I really like you. And I was wondering if you want this pretend relationship to become real?", he said, hope hinting in his voice.

"Uhh..", you ended up stuttering with a flushed face.

You didn't know how to respond. He never has any trouble speaking his mind but you were the opposite which is why it was hard for you to be in a relationship.

"Um...look..fireworks!", you pointed the other direction, standing up to get closer to the railing.

While you were looking up at the fireworks, fascinates by all the colors, or actually distracting yourself from being embarrassed, Seokmin stood beside you, also fascinated by the fireworks.

"You know...you could've just said no. I kinda feel a little stupid for saying that", Seokmin chuckled awkwardly.

"Its not that...I just...didn't know you saw me that way. And since we've been friends for a long time, I felt a little weird. You're an amazing person but why do you like me?", you asked.

"You're not like everyone else. I knew you were special for a long time but I didn't realize I had those feelings until you told me you were going on a date about a year ago. And then when you came back crying about how that guy was a slob, I was upset. I wanted to hurt him. How can someone act that way towards a person who is beautiful and sweet and caring? You deserve to be with someone who makes you happy, who lets you know how beautiful you are, who makes you smile everyday, and who takes care of you before himself. I wanna be that person. I want to have a chance to make you feel special. But I'll understand if you don't want that. I'll understand because if that won't make you happy, then I want you to be with someone who does make you happy. Because your happiness means a lot to me", Seokmin looked deeply into your eyes as he specifically described his feelings towards you.

You were touched by his words. All you could do was wrap your arms around his neck and pull him down to your level. His lips touching yours caused you to feel sparks and electricity run down your spine. You didn't think Valentine's Day would be like this but now you have someone to spend it with.
