Vernon (Pt. 1)

It was Thanksgiving week. The guys planned a dinner party at their cabin up in the mountains and wanted you to go. Your boyfriend Hansol has been acting very cold towards you because... you don't really know why. Every time you try to talk to him, he would either ignore you or walk away. You mentioned it to the other guys and also found it odd how he was acting towards you. They tried talking to him about it but he would change the subject.

"Hey (y/n), are your things ready?", Dino asked.

"I'm not going", you said, hugging your pillow.

"What?? Why??", he asked, sitting next to you on the couch.

"I don't think Hansol would want me there", you mumbled.

"Okay, who invited you? I did. Not him. You're going because I want you there and everyone else. You've invited us over to your house for dinner so...you're going. If Hansol has something to say, he's gonna have to get through all of us. Now get packing", he smiled, patting your knee.

He stood up to walk to his room but you called out for him, causing him to turn.

"Yeah?", he asked.

"..you don't think he's heard about-"

"I doubt it. He hasn't mentioned anything to any of us. He would've. Trust me", he smiled before walking away.

You sighed and went over towards your room that you share with Hansol. You found him listening to music on the bed but once he glanced at you, he turned away, heading towards the bathroom. He hasn't spoken to you in days and it's killing you.

You began to put your clothes in a small suit case, making sure you had enough for a few days. As you thought about Hansol ignoring you , you thought about him not loving you anymore. Your eyes started tearing up and frustration hit you right in the chest. You had to stop doing what you were doing so you can breathe properly.

"Let's go!", Seungkwan yelled as he jumped into the van.

Since one van wasn't enough for everyone, they had to rent two vans so everyone can fit. You were stuck in the second van with Hansol but luckily you sat on the passenger side. Everyone was singing. You weren't in the mood but you tried not to show it. A fake smile is all you could do.

You looked in the rear view mirror and noticed Hansol was staring out the window. You can see he was holding back tears which you found confusing.

He doesn't know..does he?

About four hours later, you arrived at the cabin. You grabbed your suit case and follows the guys inside where they appointed everyone their rooms. Of course they put you in a room with Hansol.

When you walked inside the room, you placed your suit case aside and sat down on the bed. Hansol just threw his bags and walked towards the bathroom, completely ignoring you.

The next few days didn't change between the two of you. It's as if the time was passing by fast and you didn't even know it.

It's Thanksgiving and you were preparing the food along side Jeonghan, Seungkwan, Seungcheol, and Hoshi. You felt a little dizzy which Dino noticed.

"Want me to take over?", he asked you.

"No..I'm fine", you smiled.

After the food was finished, everyone took their seats. Hansol was the last one and coincidentally the only chair that was available was the one next to you. He hesitantly stared at the seat before sitting down.

You ate quietly while the rest of them talked. You hardly ate your food. You glanced at Hansol and noticed he wasn't eating either.

"Hansol..can we talk-", you whispered but was cut off by him abruptly standing up.

"I'm full", he said, heading out towards the balcony.

Everyone watched as he walked outside. You sat silently while sighing. Some took a few glances at you while the rest awkwardly ate their food.

"I think you should tell him", Dino said.

"Tell him what?", Seungkwan asked.

"I think he knows. I mean..why else is he ignoring me?", you said.

"Tell him what??", Seungkwan asked.

"I'm gonna go talk to him", you said, standing up from your chair.

When you walked out to the balcony, Hansol was leaning against the railing. You closed the balcony door and walked up to Hansol. When he saw you, he looked away.

"I wanna talk to you Hansol", you said.

He stayed silent. You rolled your eyes and got closer to him.

"What did I do wrong? Tell me because I really don't know. I really miss you and having you ignore me for days is really hurting me. If you wanna break up with me, tell me. Say something..please", you said.

"I can't...I did something bad and I keep telling myself that if I blame you because you're moving to study abroad, then I don't have to feel bad but I feel horrible because I know it's my fault. And I keep thinking that ignoring the situation will make me think that nothing happened and everything is fine. Everything is not fine...", he said, staring out at the view.

"I don't..get what you're saying", you said.

He sighed and faced you.

"When you told me you were gonna study hours and hours from here, I was upset. I was upset at the fact that you had already made your decision without speaking to me first. And instead of talking to you about how I felt, I..", he bit his lip, debating whether he should tell you.

"You what?", you asked.

"I don't want to hurt you..or ruin you. So it's best if we don't see each other anymore", he said.

"Wha-", he cut you off by passing by you.

You grabbed his arm to prevent him from leaving.

"No you're not going anywhere. We can't break up. You haven't given me a reason. Is it because you don't love me anymore? Do you not want me to study? Because I don't have to go if you don't want me to. I don't have to go. I can go to school here or I'll get a job here and we'll be fine..everything will be fine. Just...don't leave me", you said, tears staining your face.

"..I slept with someone else", he said.

That's when you felt your heart stop. You clutched onto your chest as you tried to breathe, fight for air but you felt more pain. Hansol held onto you as he yelled out to call an ambulance.
