Hoshi (Pt. 2)

It's been four years since Soonyoung moved to Seoul to begin training. His trainee days were only for a few months until he debuted with a few other guys. They were really good. As for Eunjin, she debuted with a small group of girls and have not been very successful. Her relationship with Soonyoung did increase her 'popularity' and her chances in acting escalated. They were 'the couple'.

After you graduated from high school, you enrolled into a University and moved into the school dorm. College life was pretty average for you since you're still new but you knew that it'll get harder once you get the assignments.

When you had everything organized, you decided to go for a walk and get to know the city. You got a coffee at a cafe nearby and checked a few of the stores. You spent almost $300 on clothes. You had a serious problem.

You were starting to get hungry so you went over to a restaurant that supposedly everyone likes. When you sat down, you were amazed by how many people were there. It wasn't loud, it was really comfortable but you were never really a fan of eating in front of people you don't know.

"(Y/n)?"

You met eyes with a guy who had a mask covering his mouth and a bucket hat.

"Yes?", you asked.

"It's me, Soonyoung", he whispered as he moved his mask.

Your eyes widened and you had an urge to run out of the restaurant. He looked so different from when you last saw him in person.

"Do you mind if I sit here?", he asked, pointing to the chair in front of him.

"Uh..sure", you said.

He sat down and smiled. It was quiet for a few seconds. You didn't even know where to start.

"So...it's been a while. How have you been?", he asked.

"I've been good. I'm going to college now", you said.

"That's great. I'm glad to hear that", he smiled.

"What about you? How's Eunjin?..I mean not like I care but just trying to be nice", you chuckled awkwardly.

"You know...we're not really a couple. We never were", he said.

"Yeah right. So your company just lied to a bunch of people?", you rolled your eyes.

"Yeah. Since Eunjin was having problems with her career, they thought I'd help her out. I really did mean it when I said I have no feelings for her", he said.

You looked at your hands and wasn't sure to believe him. It's been four years since you've seen him so you don't known what he's been doing.

"Look, I'm really sorry for the way we left things off. It's been bothering me since. I've been meaning to call you but I knew you weren't gonna answer. I really missed you", he said.

"Soonyoung, if you think something is gonna happen between us, you're wrong. I've moved on", you said.

"You have a boyfriend?", he asked.

"No. Actually I haven't dated at all", you said.

"Well then what's the problem with us? Back then it was distance-"

"And Eunjin. You remember her right? Your fake girlfriend", you said.

"I'll talk to my company. I'm sure they won't have a problem with us", he said.

"I...I can't. I'm sorry", you said before quickly running out of the restaurant.

It was kinda hard to run with the amount of bags you had to carry but you made it home.

A few days pass since you've seen Soonyoung. You've been focusing on your classes and stayed in your dorm to do any homework that was left for you. You were on your bed, working on a project that was due not for another month while you watched tv.

Some idol group was gonna get interviewed and you thought it was going to be a group you didn't recognize but as soon as you heard the word 'seventeen', your eyes shifted to the tv, forgetting about your project. The MC was asking them some questions which they answered confidently. Then he asked Soonyoung about his relationship status. When you heard him say that he broke things off with Eunjin, you got a bit curious. He was then talking about how he still feels love for someone else. You didn't realize until after about five minutes that he was talking about you. He said your name.

Your heart feels like it's going to explode. You were quite surprised since idols risk getting criticism and negativity when confessing something like that which means he must mean it.

About a few hours later, you called Soonyoung to see if you can meet up. You waited on a bench near the park for about half an hour until someone sat down next to you.

"Soonyoung?", you asked, making sure the guy with the mask is him.

He nodded and took off his mask. He softly smiled and waited for you to speak.

"I'm sorry for leaving the way I did back at the restaurant. I should've handle it better", you said.

"It's okay. You were just being careful", he said.

"Anyways, I saw the interview your group had today. I didn't think you were gonna say something like that", you said.

"Yeah well I was tired of keeping it to myself", he said.

"Soonyoung, I wanna fix things between. I don't mean let's get back together but don't you think we were much better as friends? I mean, we were young when we started dating. Both of us have to focus on our lives right now. You have this idol life and I have college. Why don't we just start off as friends and if things escalate much later then we can think about getting back together. What do you think?", you asked.

"That's not a bad idea. Better than not talking at all. But you must know that I'm always gonna have feelings for you", he said.

"Can you at least try dating other people? What if I'm not the one? What if both of us end up going our separate ways? Don't limit yourself to just one person", you said.

"So you're saying I should become a player?", he asked.

"No. Just date other people. We still have plenty of time to figure out what we really want. We're still young", you said.

He smiled and agreed with you.

As time passed, both of you have gotten closer again. Soonyoung ended up dating someone and even asked for advise. Sadly after a few months of dating, he found out she was cheating on him. He told himself he wasn't going to date and just focus on his career. Not too long after he found out he was the father of his ten month old son. He almost bailed out because he was scared but you reassured him that everything would be fine and that you'd be there to help him.

Both of you never got back together but supported each other as years pass. You've never felt closer to anyone in your life.
