"Derek, are you ok?" You called out as you ran into the penthouse to find the pack dotted around, Derek splayed on his bed.

"I'm fine, I'll heal in an hour or two." Derek grunted as you helped him sit up, looking over at the betas for an explanation.

"We were attacked by something fast." Erica mumbled as she leant against Boyd.

"Something fast, that's all you got for me, it took out Derek!" You yelled, dropping your bag, which made a dull thud.

"Not exactly hard." Isaac mumbled quietly, flinching when you glared at him.

"I was bigger than Peter, fast and kind of Smokey." Boyd told you as you gripped Derek's face and roughly checked him over.

"What do you expect me to do about it?" You sighed as they milled around.

"Can you do a spell, find out what it is?" Derek grunted, batting your hand away from him.

"Sure, while I'm at it lets summon the dead and poke Lucifer with a stick, if I do that it'll come here or link me to it!" You hissed, having told Derek several times before.

"Please (Y/N), you can stay with us until it's safe but we need to know what it is." He begged, the Beta's joining in.

"Fine but... if it goes wrong..." you mumbled and he nodded.

"I'll give the book to Deaton." He promised as the betas looked between the two of you in confusion.

You slowly pulled a thick book from your bag, dumping on the floor as you sat in front of you, holding hands of the book.

"Urm, I don't read much but are books meant to do that?" Isaac asked as it glowed, levitating as you chanted.

"Let her concentrate." Derek growled, watching you intently.

Flashes of forests and a bloody wound filled your head, a hunger for something that you couldn't place, and the scent that forced you to envisage the pack.

"What's happening to her?" Boyd asked, glancing at Derek who slowly stood and limped towards you.

"Derek make her stop!" Erica shrieked as your eyes seemed to become flames, lowly glowing yellow and then purple as you shook and murmured your chants.

"(Y/N)?" Derek asked his hand flying out to stop the book, snapping your spell instantly as Isaac dove forward to catch you as you collapsed.

"Did we just kill our witch?" He asked Derek who rolled his eyes.

"She's a different kind of witch from Deaton, she has to link herself to whatever it is she's trying to find so it takes a lot out of her." He motioned for them to lay you down on the sofa.

"It's going to know that she's, here, isn't it?" Erica whispered.

"It won't hurt her, hopefully she's connected and can control it long enough for us to capture it." Derek promised the worried betas.
