IVAN’s POV
“Are you done there?” I asked Bella as I started plating my dish.
“Almost.”
We’re in the kitchen preparing our dinner. It’s been an hour after we’ve finished playing poker.
“I’m done! Let’s... AH!”
“What’s wrong?” I immediately attended to her. She’s almost crying as she’s fanning her lips.
“UGH! It stings!” She answered pointing the corner of her lips.
“What did you do?”
“I don’t know. I just touched it? Wait I’m going to rinse it.”
“Don’t.” I stopped her from heading to the sink.
“Why not? Phil, it’s burning!”
“Did you use chili pepper?”
“Of course. I needed it. I love spicy foods, remember?”
“That did it.” She must have used her bare hands in slicing the chili pepper.
“What? Can you just tell me what to do?!”
“I don’t know.”
“You don’t know!? Then I’ll just rinse it!” she made her way to the sink but I grasped her elbow.
“Wag mong gagawin yan. Pag naghilamos ka, kakalat yan sa mukha mo.”
“Then what do you want me to do? It’s burning for Pete’s sake!”
“Uhh... Just wait? I don’t know. I really don’t know. Basta wag kang maghilamos.”
“Are you kidding me, Phil? Wait for it? I told you it stings!”
“Hintayin mo lang. Mawawala din yung hapdi nyan.”
“I can’t just wait! It’s burning!”
“Fine fine.” I placed my hands on her cheeks so that she’s facing me. Her eyes widened but I ignored her. I really don’t know what to do but this may help.
“What are you doing?” she asked as my face is getting closer to hers.
I started blowing the corner of her lips.
“WAG!”
Bella and I looked at the direction where the voice came.
“Ah. Eh. So... Sorry! Ka... kase kumulog ng malakas! Nagulat ako! Sige maiwan ko na kayo ha! I..Ituloy nyo na kung anumang gagawin nyo! Hi... Hindi ko sinasadyang maudlot yung halikan nyo este ano... WALA PALA! Wala kong nakita promise! Kukuha lang naman sana ko ng tubig kaso... Ano. Sa susunod, sa... Sa kwarto na lang kayo mag ano... Mag... Kiss Para walang makakita! Hindi ko talaga sinasadya! Bbye!”
And with the blink of an eye, she’s gone, leaving Bella and I speechless.
“What was that? Did she just mention the word... ‘Kiss’?” Bella asked, confused.
“The way she reacted... She must’ve thought we were about to kiss.”
