Madison Lowe.
"Hey Dorinda." I smiled as I saw Jason's personal maid standing in the kitchen. She almost jumped a bit and looked terrified. It was strange to me, a person who loved talking to people and getting to know my close ones better. It was not the way a normal person would react to a simple greeting in the morning. It was weird and made me feel awkward and uncomfortable,
"Please." She sighed, her voice telling me that she was beyond exhausted. "Call me Maid. That's what boss wants you to call me." I deeply rolled my eyes, remembering all the times Jason had lectured me about this, and I simply didn't listen. "You know what?" I leaned forward a bit, as if I was going to tell her a secret. "Fuck what he said. Dorinda, the home girl. That sounds better." She cracked me a huge smile, never seen her do anything similar before and that warmed my heart.
"What can I do for you, Ms Madison? Is there a reason why you're up this early?" I nodded.
"Buy me a pregnancy test today when you're grocery shopping but whatever you do, keep this between the two of us, and as far away from Jason as you possibly can." I could tell by the look on her face that I just made her life a thousand times more complicated.
"Who were you talking to out there?" I froze, how the hell did he even hear that I was talking? "Dorind-" Jason groaned out loud. "Maid, she is a fucking maid, Madison." This was the only thing, besides his job, that I deeply hated about Jason. His attitude and feelings towards people. He just marked them with either his good hand or bad hand. Either they're worth getting to know or they're worthless and don't even have a name.
"No. Her name is Dorinda and you better call her by her name. She's not a dog."
I knew that these words went in one ear and straight out the other. It didn't go through. He didn't want to be lectured so he shut it out. I gave up pretty easily, just like I always ended up doing."Dorinda made some breakfast, care to join?" I said, a flirty look taking place on my face. "Of course."
Sitting in the kitchen, I carefully watched Jason eat his bacon and eggs as I tried to hide the fact that I wasn't eating. I tried taking a few bites but I wasn't feeling it. At all. "You should stop staring and start eating that food before it gets cold." Jason chuckled and looked up from the papers he was writing things on. "I wasn't staring at you." I groaned. trying to hide my blush and shame of getting busted. "Sure wasn't."
Jason McCann.
Seeing Madison interact like that with my maid made me overly uncomfortable. She was on duty, it was her job and she signed a contract. Dorinda was a maid so my girlfriend had no reason to be talking to her at all. Even worse, she was defending her and going against me.
The way I controlled the maid made me feel like I had a piece of my father left. I was grateful to have something, even though he wasn't the greatest father on earth. I loved to feel the pleasure of making someone do stuff for me, saying harsh words to people or simply just throw around like a rag doll.
It made me feel like an actual boss, a criminal. The criminal I came off as but on the inside I wasn't like that. My personality didn't give the vibe of a controlling jerk but when that side came out, I had to embrace it. Who knows when the last time is, when will I stop living in my dad's foot steps? And who knows when I will grow the balls to be myself, at all times. I wanted to grow to be the person I am around my brother and Maddie.
I needed a dramatically huge change.
