Being with Michael: Part 1 (Book Two)

Chapter Five

The limo pulls up to the gate and then makes its way to the back door of the studio.

Paige and Michael get out and follow the signs identifying the way to the set of the Oprah Winfrey show.

"Michael!" Oprah exclaims as she gives him a hug. "It's so great to see you again!"

Oprah looks over at Paige and extends her hand as she says, "And Paige, it's so nice to finally meet you!"

Kind of starstruck, Paige replies, "I hope you don't mind, but I think this deserves a hug rather than a handshake," as she gives Oprah a hug.

Oprah smiles and jokes with them, "I can already tell this interview is going to go well!"

Later on during the show, Michael is sitting on the sofa across from Oprah as they talk about his life and career before bringing Paige on stage.

Paige can tell that he's anxious for her to join him because Michael hates interviews. Atleast Oprah is extremely reliable, or the most reliable you can get.

"Well enough about you, let's introduce the new shining star that is your girlfriend," Paige hears Oprah exclaim, "Paige, why don't you come on out?"

Paige walks out onto the stage and smiles as she waves to the now screaming audience.

Oprah has an excited face on as she says, "Wow, that's quite a reaction you got there!"

Paige and Michael both laugh as he says, "She tends to have that kind of effect on people." 

Paige blushes and replies sarcastically, "Oh, come on!"

Oprah leans forward and replies, "No, it's true. It's been less than a month since you attended the Grammy's together and, surprisingly, you've gotten such a positive response. Your fans even gave you the nickname, PJ!"

They both laugh and Paige speaks first, "I know! At first it kind of reminded me of a name for a sandwich, but I am so grateful that Michael's fans have been supportive of our relationship and have been willing to invite me in."

Michael laughs at Paige's remark, "A sandwich, really?"

Then his expression turns serious and he adds, "I was nervous at first because I didn't want Paige going through any drama and rumors with the tabloids like I have. And we have been very fortunate to have support from my fans and the public in general."

They continue on through the interview and at the end, Oprah finishes off by asking, "Now, I don't normally ask this, but I'm pretty sure the viewers would like to see a kiss."

Among hearing this, the audience cheers and whistles.

Paige laughs and Michael blushes, but he looks at Paige and decides to pull her up off the sofa.

They laugh at each other and Paige places her hand on Michael's face as he wraps his arms around her before pulling her back into a dip and kissing her. The audience claps and Oprah claps along with them.
