Michael made arrangements for Paris' bed to be moved to Paige's room so that he could be with both of them.

It's still the same night of the crash and he's asleep in the chair when someone nudges him awake.

He opens his eyes and sees Blanket standing in front of him.

"Blanket, I'm glad you're here. Who was able to bring you?" He asks as he pulls his son onto his lap.

"Aunt Janet drove me and Prince. Grandma and Uncle Jackie are here, too. They said everyone else should be here in the morning," Blanket says as he looks at Paige, "Dad, are Paris and Mom okay? Mom doesn't look good."

Michael feels a ping in his heart at that and sees Prince walk in.

He says, "Paris is fine, the doctors just want her to rest. Mom isn't doing so well, though. We just have to wait and see when she wakes up, okay?"

Michael winces because he knows the when should be an if.

He feels Prince put his hand on his shoulder and looks up.

Prince says, "She's going to be okay."

Michael doesn't get a chance to respond because a doctor comes in and motions for him.

Michael picks Blanket up and puts him back down on the chair before following the doctor out of the room.

The doctor says, "My name is Dr. Lockhart, the doctor you dealt with before was a temporary ER doctor, but I have been assigned to your wife's case and I have her test results with me."

Michael prompts impatiently, "And?"

Lockhart sighs and says, "And, there's a lot of swelling in the brain. We're going to keep her on medication to control her blood flow. But it's good that she's in a coma right now because it allows her body to heal naturally."

Michael is too cautious to look for hope as he asks, "How long do you think she's going to be in the coma?"

Lockhart answers, "There's no way of knowing, but I'm guessing about two to four weeks at this stage. She's in critical condition and the coma is vital to her recovery. If she happens to wake up earlier, we'll probably have to put her in a medically induced coma to give her brain more time to heal."

Michael nods and looks in to the room at the woman who saved the girl in the bed next to her and thinks about all the hours he's going to be sitting in that chair waiting.
