STUDY BUDDY

You were seated beside your best friend, Joshua. "There will be an upcoming test on Friday so please study well and I hope you all can pass." Your teacher said before everyone left to go home. Today is a Monday so there's more time to study.

You and Joshua were walking home together since you live beside each other's houses. Before you could enter your house, he asked, "Umm Y/N... Do you want to study together with me? Just like study buddies."

He smiled nervously waiting for your response. You thought Why not? At least I can ask help if I need one. "Sure. I'll go with you after I get changed. See you later." You waved at him and went inside.

You got changed. You wore jeans with sweatshirt and sneakers. You knew that both of you were going to the nearby library because you always study there with Joshua. You grabbed your bag and went to Joshua's house.

He was already waiting outside. He looked good with what he was wearing. "Let's go." He held your hand before you both walked to the library. You knew he likes you because his friend, Jeonghan, keeps teasing him whenever you're around but you just shrug it off.

You didn't mind that he was holding your hand since you were friends. You never really saw Joshua as more than a friend because you weren't focusing on liking anyone.

Both of you arrived at the library and sat near the back where you always seat together. You grabbed your books and started reading.

There would be times wherein you would ask him for help and he would ask you too. Minutes have passed already so you decided to take a break for a while.

"Y/N. Let's have a bet." Joshua said suddenly. You were surprised at his sudden request. "And w-what would
t-that be?" You asked nervously.

He thought for a while before smiling at you. "If I get a higher score than you, you have to be mine for a week. Just a week but if you get a higher score than me, you don't have to." He smiled.

You never would have thought Joshua would make such a bet just to be with you. He's not the type of person to force someone to be his but with this bet he made, you were speechless.

You just looked at him like he just said something stupid. Both of you always make bets with each other but this was different. "Sure if you want. You know I always accept bets from you."

"Really?! You would do it. You don't have to if you don't want." He asked concerned. You shook your head, "I'm fine. It's just a bet anyways."

After that conversation, both of you went back to studying. You were a bit bothered with his bet. Does he really have to make a bet just to be with me? Maybe he thinks that it will be the only way for him and I to be together. You thought

You would glance at him from time to time and look at him while he was reading his book. He would notice and look back at you. Instead of asking anything, he would just smile at you and go back to reading.

His smile is so cute. You realized what you had just thought about. You tried to read your book again to forget about that thought. You can't stop looking at him again and again. You never would have thought that you would like him back.

You wanted to stop looking at him so he wouldn't find you weird. You decided to leave since it was getting dark already. While you were packing your things, some of your books fell. You went to grab it but he grabbed it before you. You blushed at his actions and that made you realize that you actually like him.

You said thank you to him. You left together and just like before, he held your hand. You arrived home and thought about your feelings for him. You just fell for his smile before and now you fell for him. I like you Hong Jisoo.

Your study sessions went on for the next few days. He was being nice to you and you fell for him even more. You were nervous that he might stop liking you and just forget about the bet.

The day finally came. Even though you wanted him to win the bet so that you will be his even just a for week, you have to pass this test and get a high grade. You answered the test forgetting about the bet Joshua made.

The next Monday came and the results were now released. Everyone gathered to the bulletin board where the results were posted. You saw Joshua's sad expression. You thought maybe he failed or maybe he lost the bet.

You went to the bulletin board and saw the scores. You were right, he lost the bet. His score was lower than yours by 1 point. You went to congratulate him for passing because he was your friend.

"Congratulations Joshua. You passed." You said trying to cheer him up. "Congratulations to you too Y/N" He said while smiling. You hugged each other tightly.

After school, you and Joshua went to his house to celebrate for passing the exam. He was still sad that he lost the bet. You felt bad for him too.

"I can't believe I lost the bet. I won't be able to call you mine now. Thank you for being such a great study buddy. I passed because of you." He said while looking down.

You held his cheeks and kissed him. He was surprised that you suddenly kissed him. You broke the kiss and smiled. "You don't have to win that bet you made. If you want to call me yours, go ahead. I like you Joshua."

He smiled widely. He kissed you again but this time it was passionate. "I really like you Y/N. So, can I call you mine now?" He asked. "Yes, Joshua. I'm yours now."
