COMPLIMENTS

You planned to visit Jisoo, your best friend, today. Before you arrived at his house, Seungcheol came to talk to you for a while. After the small talk, you knocked on Jisoo's door, only to be replied with, "Come in."

Slowly opening the door, you saw him sitting on the floor. He was resting his arms around his knees with his head on them. As soon as you met eyes with each other, he turned to look at the other direction. Your smile turned into a frown.

"Joshua, what's wrong?" You asked in concern while coming closer to sit beside him. "It's nothing." He replied faintly. Something was obviously bothering him. "What's seems to be bothering you?" You asked again but softer, trying not to annoy him.

He just scoffed in response. You thought that maybe he wasn't in the mood so you tried to compliment him. "I like your hair today, Joshua." You said as you touched his hair. Still not looking at you, he responded, "You only like my hair? Wow."

You saw him roll his eyes after being sarcastic. What's wrong with him today? "I like your outfit, I like your voice, I like your smile." Compliment after compliment but he doesn't react. Well, he would slightly smile without showing you but he still wasn't satisfied.

You didn't want to annoy him so you stayed silent. Silence filled the room and it bothered you. Jisoo wasn't this quiet before. "Joshua, why aren't you taking any of my compliments? What do you want to hear from me?"

He sighed before facing you, still with his sad expression. "It's not about the compliments, Y/N. Those words aren't enough to make me the happiest man in the world. Do you get it?" There was one thing that came to your mind.

Three words that would either lead to a good or bad ending. Maybe those three words are what he wanted to hear so you said it. "I like you." His eyes widened at your words. You were right, those were the words he was waiting for. "Y/N...do you mean it?"

He asked nervously. You like him and you weren't afraid to tell him, now that you've said it already. "I do, Joshua. I mean it. Are you happy now?" You looked at him while waiting for his response. Suddenly, he hugged you tightly.

"You don't know how happy I am right now." His soft voice made you smile. "I was worried. I saw Seungcheol talking to you and it made me sad. I like you too, Y/N." You hugged him back, "Is this what I came here for?" You joked and it made him chuckle.

"At least, you made someone the happiest man in the world and he'll do the same to you."
