Chained by the wall...

Her previous fair and soft skin was covered with scrapes and bruises...

Her soft and shiny hair was now tangled, covered with sweat and blood...

Her beautiful face was battered and unrecognizable...

Stab wounds, bullet holes... all were plotted into her flesh...

...but her eyes remained the same. The sadness, the longing, anger and hate, everything he sees about her remained the same.

He knew he wanted her, to hold her, comfort her, make her safe, but he couldn't. His pride won't forgive her that easy; even she's just in front of him - bathing in her own blood.

He was about to turn away, when a single red dot flashed into her forehead. His eyes widened, his heartbeat doubled... his feet won't move as if it's stuck on the cold cement floor. He tried to shout, but no voice was made for them to be heard. His eyes started to water as he reach out for her, silently praying that whatever he's thinking were all damn impossible.

He saw her smile at him, finally showing her full vulnerability and submission, making his knees awfully weak before he stumbled to the floor... realizing they are successfully making him broken as he watch her die.

All of his thoughts were simply cut by a single sound...

Bang!~

"Nooooo!" he mouthed.

Nanginging at pinagpapawisang nagising si Rain mula sa kanyang pagka-bangungot. Habol-hiningang pinakakalma nito ang mabilis na pagkalampag ng kanyang dibdib, hanggang sa wala sa sariling napakapa ito sa kanyang pisnging dinadaluyan ng taksil niyang luha.

"The heck?" maang-maangang tanong nito sa sarili, right there and then, sumingit sa isip niya ang babaeng may ngiting puno mula sa kaniyang panaginip, "Aurgh! Fuck it!" naiinis na hiyaw nito bago bumangon sa kanyang higaan.

Mabilis siyang na nagligo't nag-gayak. Dire-diretso itong sumakay sa kanyang kotse at nagmaneho sa kalagitnaan ng gabi

Samantala...

"Kamusta? Did you found her?"

Mabilis na napaangat ng tingin ang lalaking walang tigil sa pagtipa ng kanyang laptop, "I'm trying to... she had gone off the track an hour ago and it looks like she knew that we're tracking her," napangisi, naman ang lalaki sa kanyang narinig na tugon. Itinaas pa nito ang kanyang paa sa lamesa bago magsindi ng sigarilyo at sinabing, "Tracking her will definitely be a waste of time," napatigil sa pagtipa ang kausap nito, "No one can beat her knowledge when it comes to technology, what do you expect?" dagdag niya.

"Damn", mahinang mura ng lalaki bago isinara ang monitor lid ng kaharap nitong laptop, "Now, what should we do?"

Masaganang humithit ng sigarilyo ang kanyang kausap at sa pagbulaga ng usok nito sa hangin... ay namutani ang kakaibang ngisi nito sa kanyang labi, "We'll play with her knights in shining armor"
