Chapter Twenty-One

Taylor's POV

I woke up screaming, just like every other night this week.

Flashbacks of last Sunday have been racing through my mind at night. Hayes. Jumping. Rescuers. Rocks.

Sophia rushed into the room, finding me in the dark. Wrapping her arms around my shaking body.

"Nightmares?" She asked.

"Yes." I replied, my voice barely there.

"Me too."

I think Sophia has been taking it better than any of us since she didn't know him very long. But still, she watched someone commit suicide. It haunts us all in our sleep. So we all have to go this stupid therapist who basically just tells us it's not our fault five million times.

Waking up this time however is harder than others, because today is his funeral.

"What time is it?" I asked.

"2:30 in the morning."

I put my head in my hands. I have gotten barely any sleep in the past three days, and everyone can tell.

"Do you want me to call Cameron? I was gonna call Nash anyways."

Cameron has been staying with Nash for support. But every night they've ended up here because only each other will help us get to sleep.

"Yes, please." I said.

I listened to Sophia, and Nash's faint voice on the other side.

"You can't sleep either." He asked, I could tell he had been crying.

"No." She replied shaking her head.

"We'll be over in a few minutes."

Sophia went back to her room to wait for Nash.

After sitting in the dark for a few minute Cameron opened my door, walking over to the bed and sitting beside me.

"It's my fault." I whispered. That's all I've been able to think.

"Shhh... It is not your fault." He said laying us down. "Hayes had a choice."

He slowly ran his fingers through my hair, and my breathing started to slow.

I just want to keep the bad thoughts out.
