Laura came back downstairs and was on her way to welcome a familiar guest when a strong hand gently held her elbow. She turned to see a handsome face smiling down at her."Hi beautiful." The man smiled.
"Hi." She hesitantly replied.
"Laura, right?" He asked.
"Yes," She replied. "How did you know my name?"
He smiled in amusement. "I am very good at guessing the names of beautiful women like you."
Laura rolled her eyes.
"Especially one that has caught my attention."
"Oh" was all she could manage to say.
"I'm Ronald Daniels," He introduced, letting out his hand for a handshake. "But you can call me Ron."
"Well, you already know my name."
Laura said, receiving his hand and he brought her hand to his lips and kissed it. Her mind wandered to exactly what had happened earlier with the other hunk."You are beautiful."
"Thank you."
"I've never seen you around before." He said. "Especially in these parties."
Laura shrugged her pretty shoulders. "You can't see everyone."
"Not when the woman is this beautiful." He said huskily and she smirked.
"Actually, the celebrant is my father." She said and his eyes widened.
"You are Chief West's daughter?" He asked and she nodded. "Why, I never knew. I'm only familiar with his two other daughters, I never knew he had a third and such a beautiful one at that."
Laura wasn't surprised that people didn't know her, especially as Chief West's daughter, because her stepmother always took her stepsisters to such social gatherings and they never took her with them.
"Why haven't I seen you around before?" He asked, obviously still shocked.
"Well, let's say because I'm hardly around." She replied. "I'm actually writing my final exams in the university now so I hardly have time for social events."
"Ohhh, I see, I see. That explains it." He said and smiled. "Well, I'm a worker, obviously. CEO of Dan Oils."
"Hmm, that's big." She simply replied and that was not the reaction he was expecting.
Women were always all over him, whether obtrusively or unobtrusively. But this particular girl remained cool like it meant nothing to her and that interested, impressed and intrigued him more.
❤❤❤
Greg's eyes kept drifting towards where the other two were.
He knew Ronald, he would waste no time in trying to take the girl to his bed.
Not that he himself wouldn't, in fact, he would give anything to have her body right beneath him because just looking at her did strong things to his body, mind and senses. But the thought of Ronald getting his rotten hands on her pure skin did angry things to his mind and he wished there was a way he could separate the two of them before such a thing occurred even though he had no right over her.
"You've not been listening to me!"
A loud pitched voice screamed in his eyes and he quickly turned, almost forgotten he was with Samantha."Of course I have, why would you say that?"
"You've not been looking at me. Or am I not beautiful enough?"
"Don't say that." He consoled, "Do you look at the mirror? You are an epitome of beauty."
Satisfied with that, she smiled. "That's more like it, thank you."
Greg noticed a familiar face coming towards him. Sophia. His face lit up and for the first time in a long time, he was actually very happy to see her.
"Greg?"
"Sophia darling!" Greg embraced her harder than he should. "You look extremely beautiful tonight."
"Uh.. thanks?" Sophia stuttered, surprised and confused on this new Greg before her.
But she knew him, he could be cunning at times to get what he wanted. She looked at the other lady who had a frown on her pretty face and smirked. As much as she wanted to believe that Greg was serious, she thought better about it. She would please him by playing the game he was throwing her way.
"Oh darling, sorry to keep you waiting, I was held in traffic." She said sweetly, leaning into him.
"It's alright baby..." He turned to face Samantha and the look on her face amused him greatly. "Let me go get you ladies some drinks while you get to know each other. I'll be right back." He said, registering the look of horror on both their faces and left anyways, not giving them a chance to reply.
He had only one intention in mind and that was getting his angel away from that demon that called himself Ronald.
Sorry, I know it's short, I've been a bit down lately and couldn't write much, so I had to just publish this chapter so that I won't keep my lovely readers waiting.
