Lizzy gently patted Laura who had been sleeping for a while in the darkened room.

She hadn't gone back to her house since the day she had reciprocated Samantha's slap. She knew hell was eagerly waiting for her back home.

"Wake up Lau." Lizzy said softly. "Dinner is ready."

"I'm not hungry." Laura mumbled sleepily.

"But you have to eat." Lizzy insisted. "You can't continue like this."

"I just don't feel like eating." Laura said stubbornly.

"You're getting up to eat, right this minute." Lizzy ordered and put on the room's bright lights causing Laura to wince as the sharp ray of light hit her face.

"What was that for?" She grumbled.

"Your call to come down for dinner." Lizzy replied with a smirk.

"But it's just 6:30!" Laura whined.

"I know darling, but I want us to be done with dinner and retire before my parents arrive. I don't want to eat with them."

"But why?"

"They'll start asking me how and why my car got scratched."

Laura smiled, despite herself. "You said it was Ronald's car that collided with yours?"

"The bastard," Lizzy said savagely. "He even offered me money for the damage but I refused. What annoyed me so much was that ever present smirk on his face! He even found the situation funny. Gosh, I wanted to strangle him."

"Thank God you didn't." Laura smiled. "It was an accident, he didn't do it on purpose."

Lizzy scoffed. "If you weren't my friend, I would have said you're supporting him."

Laura giggled lightly and wanted to reply when her phone rang beside her. She looked at the caller and froze when she saw just who was calling.

"Who is it?" Lizzy asked when she noticed her friend's stiff body.

"Greg." She whispered and Lizzy's eyes widened in excitement.

"Answer it." She squealed.

"No!" Laura cried. "What if he's calling to throw more insults at me? God knows I can't take them anymore."

"If he tries that, hand over the phone to me. But pick, now."

Laura picked the call and brought it to her left ear but said nothing. She held her breath as she waited for him to speak.

"Laura," The warm husky voice that turned her heart to jelly spoke in an almost whisper.

"Yes?" She whispered.

He sighed. "Baby I'm sorry."

Momentary surprise was registered on Laura's face as a result of his just spoken words before she closed her eyes, tears filling them.

He knows the truth.

"I shouldn't have done what I did." His voice sounded so sad that she wanted to cry. "I should have at least, listened to you. I shouldn't have misjudged you baby, trust me I'm not a great fan of myself right now."

She became speechless. It was all overwhelming for her and she didn't even know what to say to him.

"I understand I'm the last person on earth you want to talk to right now, but I just hope I can earn your forgiveness, angel. I know I messed up big time."

She sighed deeply. "I..."

"Don't answer that right now." He said promptly. "Where are you?"

"I'm not at home now." She replied drily after a few seconds.
