"You won't do that!"
She exclaimed in horror, not believing what she just heard."Watch me."
He took a step toward her and she froze, realizing he was serious, then automatically took a step backward.
"Alright, alright!"
She exclaimed breathlessly and he smiled in triumph and went over to the other side of the car, opening the door for her.
"But this is kidnapping!""Whatever you call it."
He said in a bored tone. She reluctantly went into the car and crossed her hands over her chest. She scoffed. He was more annoying than she thought.
He went back to the other side, entered the car and closed the door, then zoomed off.
The close confines of the car giving a kind of intimacy that Laura felt uncomfortable in."Will you slow down a little?" She cried when he swerved the car too harshly. "Am not ready to die yet."
He chuckled, a husky, nice and relaxing sound.
"But you want to go to heaven.""Of course I want to go to heaven."
She answered like a child earning another amused chuckle from him."You really are a funny one." He commented.
"Excuse me?"
"Relax, it's a compliment." He replied smoothly, obviously very amused.
"You still haven't told me why you are out this late.""And how is that your business?"
She asked too harshly and regretted it immediately when she saw his mouth tighten in annoyance and his jaw flexed.
"I'm sorry." She said calmly and he smirked."I doubt that you are."
She rolled her eyes. "Now you don't want to accept my apology."
"Why should I? When I don't need it."
He said in amusement."You know what?" She asked, shooting daggers at him. "You are so rude and arrogant! God! I wonder how people keep up with you. I can't."
He laughed this time. A husky and sophisticated sound, she thought.
"And you are really troublesome and a handful."
He replied with a smile. "That's quite refreshing." He said the last words almost to himself and before she could respond, he continued.
"We're here."Confused, she turned to look out of the window and gasped.
Did they fly? How did they get to the house this fast? She asked herself.
She must have been so far from earth that she didn't notice when he turned his car into her street."Earth to Laura."
She snapped her head back to him and found him almost smiling in amusement.
"Uh, sorry. What were you saying?"
"Isn't it your house?"
"Of course it is and you know it."
He smirked. "Well, you were looking at the house like you didn't recognise it."
She wanted to utter another word when it dawned on her that her stepmother would still be waiting for her.
"Goodnight." She said instead."Goodnight, coconut." He said with a smirk and her eyes widened.
"What did you just call me?"
"Coconut," he replied smoothly. "Because you are as stubborn as one."
He said huskily, his eyes going down to her plump lips and moving back to her eyes. She saw his eyes darken with an emotion she couldn't fathom but found it hard to take her eyes off. It was as if she was drowning in them.
