Lizzy's words kept going through Greg's head and he wondered if she was telling the truth about Laura or was just trying to cover up her friend's unacceptable deed.

He desperately wanted to believe that Laura was innocent but how could he be sure? The girl had not even tried to contact him since after that day of the confrontation and that had made him believe that she really was guilty. If she wasn't, why didn't she call or at least text him again after that day?

He sighed heavily, as he paced the space of his vast bedroom.
His eyes kept drifting to his phone, as if telling him to pick it up and call her. But he couldn't. She had to make the first move since he was the victim here.

He paused. But what if she really was the victim here? He sighed heavily again.

He would need to hear from her own side.

Laura was quiet after her father had angrily asked about what he saw on the net. Someone had told him and he had confirmed it when he saw it on net, then wasted no time in calling her on phone from across the continent.

"If I hadn't seen this with my two eyes, I wouldn't have believed it." West growled and Laura flinched. "If it were your sisters, I wouldn't have been surprised, but you of all people. How did you get yourself in the papers with that boy in such a...a...an intimate position?"

Laura almost forgot her current situation by laughing as her father sought for a milder word to qualify what she and Greg was engaged in, in the photos, but dared not.

"Dad I'm so sorry." She said tearfully. "I didn't mean to do that to you, you must be ashamed of me now."

She heard her father sigh.

"I can never be ashamed of you my baby, neither can I stop you from seeing a man, you're no longer my little baby girl but a grown woman now. But I was so shocked when I saw the news." West said softly.

"I'm sorry dad."

"I'll be coming straight down to the country after I'm done with the contract I have at hand now." He said firmly. "That's a month and a half from now."

"Okay dad."

They ended the call and Laura zombie - walked to her dresser table and stared at her reflection in the mirror. She looked a mess, she thought.

At least she had dealt with her father, the other person she would focus on now was Greg. Not that she knew what to do. The guy was as stubborn as a mule and wouldn't even listen to her just as he had done when they last met.

Her phone rang and she rushed to it as she had been doing since that day.

She sighed in disappointment when she saw that it was an unknown number.

"Hello." She said drily.

"If it isn't the beautiful Laura West." A deep masculine drawled.
That intro sounded familiar but she needed to be sure.

"Who am I speaking with, please?"
She asked politely.

"Oh, it's none other than Ronald Daniels himself."
He replied and she could picture him smirking in pride.

"Somehow I knew it was you. Good afternoon."

"How are you?" He asked smoothly.

"I'm fine." She replied. "How's work?"

"We're doing it." He answered briefly. "I want us to have dinner together this evening, if you'll be free."

"No." She said immediately.
