The phase of pregnancy was not an easy one at all and Laura would not hesitate to attest to that but it didn't make her love her precious little one any less.

It was the ninth month of her pregnancy and she had been proudly carrying her round tummy albeit mocking words and laughter from Celina and Samantha. The latter had already given birth to a baby boy over a month ago which had caused a frown on Laura and Lizzy.
Just how long ago did Greg start sleeping with Samantha?
Anyways it wasn't her business. She had her own sunshine to look forward to bringing into her lonely world.

Surprisingly, she wasn't so keen on getting Greg back anymore. Especially after the way he had treated her at the hospital. That incident was always a painful reminder and one of the hindrances that marred her decision of getting him back. Even though he had lost his memory, he had no right to treat her the way he had. Besides he was supposed to feel something for her if she truly was special to him before the accident. But then again, that's if she was ever special to him. He might just have been using her.

It was of no use anyway. He and Samantha had been lovers even before he confessed his attraction to her. And they both had a baby now and would probably be getting married soon.

Tears filled her eyes. Could she allow that to happen? Could she watch the man she loved go down the isle with her stepsister?

Even though she had a part of him inside her right now, would it ever be enough?

She shook her head. It had to be. This baby in her womb was her life and her sunshine in a dark and gloomy world. They had both gotten very fond of each other. She talked to the child and believed he or she always listened and tried to offer comfort when she needed it.

Her unborn baby was her rock and backbone. And Lizzy of course.

Ronald had been keeping her friend busy of late but Lizzy always found time to come keep her company and get her the things she needed.

And then, there was Dexter.

Lizzy's handsome brother had been getting quite close to her and had also been there for her through her pregnancy phases. He had been sweet, loving and caring, almost acting like her spouse.

She had even moved out of the family house with her father's permission, to a two bedroom apartment with Dexter's and Lizzy's help.

He visited her every evening after work and always brought goodies with him whenever he came and took her on walks sometimes in order to exercise her body. He had also slept in the other bedroom on two occasions when it was too late to go back home.

Laura was quite contented, asides the fact that she cried herself to sleep on some nights and couldn't stop thinking about Greg.
He was her child's father after all. But she also kept it in mind that he was also her sister's child's father and probably soon to be husband. She had seen him from a distance several times but never found the courage to approach him, especially in her pregnant state. He had bounced back again in the handling of his businesses and according to people, it was as if he never left.

Her fathered had visited twice within the months before she moved out of the house.
He had been quite disappointed at both her and Samantha but was a little soft on Sam after she had told him that the baby's father was getting married to her, with a triumphant smile aimed at Laura's direction.
Laura however, never told anyone apart from Lizzy and Dexter that the baby was Greg's and she preferred to keep it that way. Who else was going to believe her anyway?

As usual, Dexter came around that evening with packs of chocolate.

"How was work?" She asked after welcoming him.
