"...I'm finished Lizzy."

Lizzy sighed. "Lau you've been saying that for the past three weeks."

It had been three weeks since the painful incident that took place in the hospital and Laura had been acting like a walking dead ever since.

"I understand that it's hard for you but please you have to stop this." Lizzy continued. "Please I need you to eat. You haven't eaten since morning."

"I'm not hungry." Laura replied drily.

Lizzy sighed. "Laura please..."

"I said I'm not hungry!" She snapped.

"Stop acting like a baby!" Lizzy snapped back.

"I am not acting like a baby!"

"But you're being one now, Laura."

Laura shook her head. "You don't know how I feel so you can never understand!"

Lizzy sighed for the umpteenth time. The pregnancy hormones coupled with the Greg issue was taking a toll on her friend.

"Laura," She said gently. "Trust me when I say that I know exactly how you feel. I've been there before, remember?"

Laura stiffened for a second then turned to face her, her expression going soft and concerned.
"Lizzy..."

"No, don't start, I don't want to talk about that." She snapped, interrupting her. "I just want you to know that I understand the pain you're going through and how it feels to lose someone you love to another woman. Yes I know you love him," She said as Laura looked at her in surprise. "It's very obvious.
One mistake I made was not fighting for the man I truly loved even when I was expected and supposed to. Pride held me. And I regret that every time I remember it."

Laura took her hand in hers and squeezed it, tears rolling down her cheeks.

"That's why I want you to be strong so that you could fight for your man and father of your unborn child." Lizzy said firmly. "But most of all, I need you to be strong for your unborn baby."

Laura froze as something hit her.

Her baby.

In her depression and pain, she had not been paying close attention to her child.

Her hand instinctively went to her tummy and caressed it.

She might have lost Greg for now, but a part of him was still with her. Their baby was an evidence of her love for him, yes hers, because she wasn't sure yet whether he loved her or not. Their baby was a result of the most beautiful night of her life.

She straightened and wiped away her tears.
She had to be strong for her baby. This wasn't the moment for weakness or self pity. Right now, her baby was her utmost priority and if she happened to lose the child she knew she would go mad.

She would leave Greg be for now and focus all her attention on the sweet little creature growing inside her. For she would never forgive herself if anything bad happened to her unborn child as a result of her stupidity and stubbornness. She made up her mind to embrace that strength again, patience and perseverance.

She would get her Greg back.

But not now.

❤❤❤

Greg watched the beautiful lady with hooded eyes as she went round the room in bum shorts and a flimsy low-cut sleeveless top, arranging this and tidying that.

He knew she wasn't really tidying up but flaunting her assets to seduce him. And boy was she succeeding. He was a man after all.

He couldn't believe he hadn't buried himself inside of her since he was discharged from the hospital few weeks ago. Perhaps it was because of the knowledge that she was carrying his child or something else?
