"MOMMA!!!!"
"JUST KEEP RUNNIN' HONEY!"
Run.
That's all they could do.
Afterall....
There was nothing they could do.
Nothing against /them/.
And the only thing standing between them and the two terrified children was one woman; a very pissed woman.
"We can't leave you!"
"You can and yah will! I've got this creep, just run! Find a man named Nathan Aegis! You don't remember em', yah couldn't; but find him!"
"Why!?"
"Just do it!"
"Not until you tell us why!"
"JUST GO!"
"NO!"
She grit her teeth. She wasn't gonna make them budge until they heard what they wanted to hear.
"...He's your dad. He'll protect you two if I ask em'. Oh....and one more thing..."
She smiled.
"Tell em' I still love em....And I'm sorry."
KRSH!
With that, their mother was gone, nothing amongst a sea of snapping jaws and blood.
And they had to watch.
Watch as the woman who raised them died right in front of their eyes.
The little boy, as there was two of them, stood there with eye wide, trembling as emotion swelled up in him.
He wanted to cry.
His throat burned.
He wanted....
to scream.
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
And with that scream, the very area, and the rest of their battered home shook, breaking apart as even the horrible thing that had taken away his mother began to cower.
Still he screamed.
He screamed his head off.
He screamed until his jaw felt as if it'd fall apart, and he kept screaming.
He screamed away his pain, his sorrow, the rage that brewed inside him.
He screamed until everything went....black.....
......................................................
.......................................................
"Hey bro?"
"Hm?"
"Think we're ever gonna find em'?"
"Mm."
"If mom says we are, then we are, right?"
".....Mm."
The boy didn't talk any longer. Not since then. When he awoke, his sister was right next to him, ears bleeding and clinging to dear life. All he had known was gone. He wasn't going to make her, or anyone else he'd meet along the way, go through that. Never again. He wasn't alone at the very least. His sister too had made a resolve once the two figured out she was like him. Not in the same way, but she was. It was like pulling teeth to get her to agree to it, but he did. The two were freaks, but they were freaks together. And, for better or worse.....
they kept themselves under lock and key.
