FWOOSH....
Gently, the plane landed, ending a long, long flight.
I had felt my shoulders cramp sitting in the same seat so long, and the fact that it was finally over was my only visible comfort, stepping off with my bags in tow. With every step there was a new eye on me-not that I wasn't used to it, of course. You'd think I was a siren the way I was drawing them in, honestly; a little swishing of the hair and a natural sway and they were hooked. But was I beyond a pretty face? Did they even recognize me?
I doubted it.
She would.
She had to.
I sprnt as little time as possible lingering, walking out of the airport and whistling for the nearest cab; there was a lot of them in this city. That never changed, at least.
"Where to, doll?"
"Red Gala. You know where that is, right?"
"Do I? It's only one of the most important places in this entire city. You'd think it was the goddamn white-house."
"No, maybe not," I chuckled, looking out the window.
"What's there is way better."
"Yeah? And what's that?"
"Sorry, can't tell you."
"Why not?"
"It's personal."
"You meetin' someone?"
"Maybe."
"They party?"
"A bit."
"You party?"
I laughed.
"Oh yeah."
Soon enough, I'd arrived at my destination, paying my courier and giving him a smile and a "thank you," approaching the club in question.
Ah, this club.
It felt like yesterday when she first took me here. It felt like coming home.
I stepped inside, letting every familiar sound, smell, and feeling wash over me, walking right up to the boss herself.
Sure enough, her eyes widened.
I was on air.
She remembered.
She really did remember.
Without letting her get a word in, I grabbed her and pressed my lips to hers, as I had waited to do for what was much too long.
"Heya dollface; you miss me?"
