Silence

"Big sis! Big sis!"

I called out, yet again, standing in front of what looked like a closed off mountain, covered in thick brambles and roots, closed off to all.....

That is, if you weren't her little brother.

"Enter."

That same voice, deep as the roots of Earth, and faint and passing as the wind, signaling the unwrapping of the natural guards of the rock, before it collapsed before me.

I stepped inside, watching as the Earth reformed behind me. With a smile, I ventured into the cave, soft, cavernous, and dimly lit, following the small, living lights to the right paths, soft, melodious harmonies resonating from every correct answer. I'd recognized the pattern by myself, obviously; I recognized em' all by heart. It is quite literally never the same, but I know the way.

I always do.

Suddenly, as I walked, I felt the tremors.....

I felt the Earth shake, deep into it's core.

Of course.

"Ommm....."

Shaking...

Shaking....

"Yup....Definitely meditating," I muttered to myself, slinking deeper and deeper into the caverns until.....the largest.

The silent cavern.

The den of sleep.

Blader's inn.

It was called alotta things.

Me and her just called it home.

And now that I was within....

Golden vines shrouded around me, like arms eager for an embrace, brushing my cheeks and tickling my nose.

"Ahhhh....Welcome....Welcome home, brother.....Come in...Come in...."

Came the same thin, etheral voice from earlier, drawing me ever forward in welcome.

"Hi sis. Meditating."

"Yes. It does well to have the mind constantly centered....One must always be prepared to be in a state of internal quiet.....It is right."

"Yeah, okay."

With that, the final cavern opened before me, revealing a nest of vines, thorns, brambles, flowers, and growth, several large, smooth rocks jutting from the floor for specific use.

And upon the largest was a woman, tall, dark, and muscular. Tattoos danced artfully across her body, from the scalp under her off-colored hair to her brown, calloused feet, markings even on the nails. Her eyes opened, glassy and colorless, yet full to the brim with wisdom, greeting me fondly.

"I am Eternia....Lord of the silence. What brings you hither, and why?"

We both laughed.

"...Kidding. I only say that to intruders. Come, brother. Your mind is giddy. Sit down and tell me of it, and then you can join in the calming."
