Two girls, sitting, as they had many times before, letting the day waste away as they enjoyed one another's company.....Such a simple scene.....Yet.....quite different, this one would be....

"Magi?"

"Hm?"

"Answer a question for Vera, won't you?"

"Of course. What is it?"

"Our mothers....They adopted us, took us in as raised us as their own all these years....

"They did, yes."

"We became their children."

"We did."

"If anything ever happens, it's us that preserves their memories. Our aunts and uncles have that as well....Children hat preserve their memories....."

"Yes, Vera, what are you getting at?"

"Would you ever want that?"

"Eh?"

"Ever want to raise children, the way our mothers raised us, have someone to preserve our memories."

"Hm.....That's some question.....We're still children ourselves, Vera. What on earth has got your mind wondering a thing like /that/?"

"Well, everything, Magi. We made a promise all those years ago, when we were only girls, a promise Vera still holds dear...."

"As do I, Vera. But like you said, we were girls."

"Yes, perhaps, but it doesn't make Vera think about these things any less. Magi, you are everything to Vera. You complete me. As long as Vera has you, she needs nothing else. That's why...."

The short-haired girl stood, pulling her dear up with her, squeezing her hands.

"I want to promise you something:All that we have forged....I'll cement it in stone."

The princess didn't quite know what to say. She didn't even know what she meant, but still, somehow, she couldn't help but smile.

"Alright. Our love is already cemented, my Vera, but, if you must, I won't complain."

it's been at least ten years, more, since then......

Their nephews and nieces have grown, long since the chaos of war.....

The girl, now a young woman, stood smiling in her lab, her sole goal since 14 so near completion.

"Magi.....I made a promise....do Your remember? It's complete....Our love....our memories....Everything we've shared...."

She stepped forward, placing her hand on the glass which held inside her ultimatum.

Her magnum opus.

50% of her, and 50% of the one she loved above all else.

Her mothers, the very same ones that adopted ones had told her that what she wished for couldn't be done......

She proved them wrong.

"Is preserved....."
