Breaking the silence

DOOM!
DOOM!
DOOM!

"What...?"

Noise.

So much noise.

Complete panic.

It was doing nothing for her focus.

And she could feel that she wouldn't need it.

DOOM!

With a sigh, she rose to her feet.

DOOM!

She jumped from her rock, leaving her beloved cavern.

DOOM!

She creeped forward....

DOOM!

Ever-forward....

DOOM!
DOOM!

Further and further....

DOOM!

She found herself here....at the entrance....When was the last time she found herself here? When was the last time she'd left? When was the last time she had seen another besides her brother, and the intruders that somehow still found their way here? The thought had hurt her head, and so she'd cast it aside.

She put out a hand, her glassy eyes glowing, turns the brambles golden and willing the wall down.

"Finally."

She gasped.

She'd heard that voice. She knew it well.

The young slayer, she called her.

Her brother had been fraternizing with her. It was why his mind was so giddy barely a day ago.....

She didn't like the girl.

She didn't trust the girl.

Now, almost everyone fell into this category.

But this wasn't just the disgruntled, misanthropic mutterings of a hermit swordswoman.

This was the wisdom of a god who had centered her mind to perfection. She could feel the rapidly growing disarray within. And it didn't sit well with her.

And Rockee....

Rocke was bad for her.

Rocke was terrible for her, in fact.

He drove her further into this madness.

And she only trembled to think what that madness would wrought.

"I am Eternia, lord of the silence. What brings you hither, child?"

"Rocke. Where is he?"

Eternia sighed.

She was hardly surprised.

"You won't find him here."

This merely made the girl smile.

"Good."

There was nothing but maliciousness in her tone, heart, and spirit.

And all of it was directed toward her.

The god stepped back.

It was clear.....

She didn't come for Rocke.

She was here for her.

"What do you want with me, child?"

"You know, hm? Good. Then this will be much simpler already. You see.....I know how you feel about me, and what you think. And I don't care. I admire you greatly, Eternis; greatly. You are resolved, and can center your mind to focus on what is nessecary. I admire that endlessly. Now, I would ask you to join me.....but I know you won't. You are too resolved for the wrong reasons. I don't want you in my Rocke's head. I don't want you to interfere. Do you understand what I am saying?"

Despite the rapidly growing darkness spreading from the girl that made Eternia sick, she hated the complete and utter nonsense from the girl's mouth more.

Who did she think she was?

No.

She wasn't going to step aside. She'd have to kill her.

She knew she had done so before.

The swordswoman felt a sharp tingle grabbing her weapon, as long as it had been.

It cooed in delight to be used again.

It wished to dance again with it's master.

And now they were.

"Listen, little girl...

No....Listen you /thing/.....

I will not let you have him. If you want him, you shall take him.

And to take him.....

You'll have to take me."

The girl sighed, shaking her head.

"Fine. Very well, then. I wanted this to be simple, but if you must complicate things...."

Her own eyes shined, rolling her shoulders.

"I'll play."

With that, the swordsman and the reasoner had collided, viciously and violently. The swordswoman was a force to be reckoned with. She had swept away countless gods with a single swoop of her blade, but this girl....This girl was stubborn. No matter what she did or how hard she tried to hit her, she didn't give, even in the slightest. The swordswoman was breaking.

"Feh.....Are we done here, hermit? The stink of your delusions is driving me mad."

"You....little demon.....I....will not fall....As long as I live...As long as I can wield a blade.....As long as I have eyes to set upon a target.....I will not fall...."

The girl chuckled cruelly at this.

"Oh? Well in /THAT/ case...."

She rose a fist, bringing it down as hard as she can, shattering the fallen god's blade.....

while she was still holding it.

"AAAAGH!"

"Then you will not have an arm to wield a blade, nor a blade to wield."

She then grabbed her face, peeling open her eyelids.

"Nor will you have an eye."

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!"

The lord of the silence had never been so loud.

It echoed through the world.

They had never heard her scream that way.

But the one-armed hermit pirate screamed at all but one boy.
