An AU I've been dreaming up for a while that I finally decided to get around to makin'! This one's a bit off the tune of what we usually do, so I'd say it's one of the most unique.....in the sense of what normally goes down, as traditionally, it's done as hell. So let's get right into the nitty-gritty!

Ah, the famed city of Lymn, Home to opportunity, the hottest clubs, the most colorful people, and thousands of blood-sucking monsters. Years ago, when the news of such creatures was young, a strange wanderer collapsed in a bank, only to attack the nearest person that tried to help them. This incident was followed by more, and, before long, the night-dwellers had taken over, drinking who they pleased and doing as they pleased, opposed only by a select few. Night-dwellers, while like vampires, weren't exactly traditional: While faster and stronger than humans and exhibiting a desire for blood, night-dwellers are genetically similiar to humans, and seem to be bizarre mutant demi-humans (not unlike vampires), essentially exhibiting a change in their genetic code that has given them a special unique ability, the other symptoms merely add-ons of this. This ability, however, comes with a special cost: The make-up of night-dwellers essentially double back on them, producing an equally bizzare "Side-effect" unique to the night-dweller, which their vampirism seems to in fact, revolve around and originate from. Other such specimens tend to oppose these creatures, though the bag has become rather....mixed, as of late. New heroes are surfacing, but the nocturnal ones are hungry. Can they save this city of the night, or are they merely postponing a bigger bloodbath?

Characters:

Scott Vernon-A night-dweller hunter with a strong hand and a wicked right hook. He appears rather clumsy, overly wary, easily flustered, paranoid, and loopy, and, honestly, he is......But he more than makes up for it with his unbreakable will and sense of loyalty and righteousness, and the beast that lurks within, capable of turning the tides.....

Grace Vernon: A former hunter and the sister of Scott Vernon. Grace died opposing their aunt, Sonya, who slaughtered majority of the Vernon line. She was reincarnated ten years later, and her goal was clear: Save her brother, and pick up where she'd left off as the protector of Lymn.

Tanya Whitticker: Grace's best friend and a fellow hunter. She secretly loved Grace, though, unlike the hunter in question, this love never died, and she was unable to move on. She happily admit how she felt upon Grace's revival, and the two continued fighting side-by-side.

Vera: A mysterious little girl of unspecified origin. She was discovered imprisoned within a dollhouse of her own making, and was taken in by Tanya and Grace as a daughter. Vera is incomprehensibly powerful, and this power is at rapid risk of spinning out of control due to her deeply compromised mental and emotional state, gravely abused by her own family. Finally free after hundreds of years of suffering, she can finally find peace, and use her powers not as an outcast, but a hero. She was rescued by Magi, and is fiercely loyal and devoted to her, sporting an attachment to her that would very well be described by most as unhealthy.

Magi: A strange visitor from another world who soon found herself being taken in by Grace and Tanya, bringing Vera with her soon after. She is intially rather cold at first, but the combined efforts of Grace and Tanya, as well as Vera have changed her for the better.

Nicole Williamson-A bright, good-natured hunter and a skilled sniper. As one of the few other humans fighting back against the night-dwellers, she has bonded with Scott, becoming his closest friend and partner, and too carries a secret within her blood that will even the playing field. Something a certain someone is rather attracted to.....

Yuuki Hua-A quiet, mysterious night-dweller not especially keen of his race, more than willing to crush them under his heel and dispose of them for annoying him, complicating his business, or getting in his way, refering to them as "Crimson-minded idiots." He actually seems to be rather fond of humans, or, more keyly, a certain girl by the name of Nicole, oddly drawn to her despite the scrutiny of her cautious partner, who soon becomes a rather close friend.

Lucy Wilson-A stealthy, sly, party-minded night-dweller with a grudge against her race, who killed her parents and drove her and her twin brother from their home, which had been burned down. Lucy saves Scott from (another) close shave with a night-dweller, and afterwards refuses to leave him alone despite what his insistance. She quickly becomes rather fond of the goofy hunter, lending a hand whenever she can. Deathly inoxicated by his smell, she will do whatever it takes to protect him, whether it means a few other dwellers, or a hundred.

Luke Wilson-Lucy's twin brother and partner. Luke is much more even and reserved than his sister, preferring to get a scope before rushing in to a situation, especially when said situation could end in violence. He is initially weary of the hunters, but comes to value them as allies, becoming an important member of the team, and the one who talks Moira into joining.

Moira Crow-A punk night-dweller criminal and gangster with thick skin and a steady track record. Moira is a brutal, powerful fighter, though she has an underlying soft side, supressing her hunger and being the more passive out of the duo of her and her older sister, who encourages brutality in the girl. She is incredibly intelligent and a brilliant engineer, scavenging the night-dweller torn city for parts that can be used for the duo, and later the hunters per the tempting of Luke,'s purposes.

Wendy Crow: A harsh, cold-hearted criminal and Moira's older sister. She is a powerful night-dweller with the ability to manipulate the wind and sky, using her gift to aid Moira's incredible durability and brawn on heists. She is unyieldingly hard and cruel to her sister, though this is out of love rather than hatred, assuming the role of the greater evil as a means of saving her sister from donning such a mantle herself, and is fiercely, even violently protective and passionate about Moira, and hates Luke to no end as a result of this.

Grima Crow: A cruel, sadistic crimelord and the mother of Wendy and Moira. She was presumed dead in a violent gangfight, but her body was never found. Years later, she resurfaced, hunting down her beloved pet and right-hand, Nathaniel.

Nanohex: A human girl kidnapped and used as a gladiator for the entertainment of night-dwellers. She was rescued by a kindly doctor who used night-dwellers dna to save her, replacing her damaged limbs and organs to turn her into a half night-dweller superhuman, becoming an assassin for hire upon her adopted father's untimely and unexplained demise. She is a central member of the hunters, wielding all of a night-dwellers abilities and more, though she herself does not have a gift, nor the intensity of blood-lust as a normal dweller. However, despite her skill and importance in the team, she later meets her demise fighting to the end.

King Aegis: An odd beastly giant of a man, and a powerful brawler. This immortal ripper has been around for untold centuries alongside his brother, best-friend, and partner Nathaniel, using the city as their playground, crushing anybody, night-dweller or human, who got in their way. Upon meeting Nanohex, King changed his ways, fighting by her side as a full-time hero, and the one left behind to patch the future.....

Nathaniel Aegis: King's brother and best-friend, and the other half of the ancients. No one is sure exactly what they are, but have incredible power, a valuable asset to the team.
