"UGH!"

In an instant, she fell, zooming towards the ground in less than a moment.

It had clicked right then and there in her mind that she'd tried to steal from the wrong person. This was a mistake. She was sloppy. Now, she was going to be turned in, or scolded, or worse, worst of all.....

She was going to be taken back.

Taken back there.

Where she didn't belong, where-

"Huh?"

She stopped falling....

She long since stopped falling.

She wasn't on the ground....No....What she felt underneath her was much too soft....Much too warm......Too inviting....

"Heeheehee...."

Giggling, sweet as honey, like a flower girl first to roses....

"What's the matter, my child? You seem troubled."

It was then the girl realized what had happened:when she went falling, this woman caught her. just as quickly as she had knocked her over. She wanted her off her feet, but not to fall?

What was the point in that?

She blinked the confusion from her bloody crimson orbs, settling on the solid comforting hazel of her would-be victim.

She had a very bright, welcoming face, with high, pin-point cheekbones and lips as full and soft as cotton, curly brown hair cascading in thick, beautiful bunches, her skin as brown as bark. The way the sun shone down on her, she looked like a goddess in the little orphan's mind.

"Wow...."

With a smile, the woman set her down, slowly rising to her feet.

That's what made the little girl realize how absolutely large the woman was.

She was an absolute amazon---Far too big to be allowed. The arms she was just resting in were like vast traps, and her monstrous size made the nun's gown she wore ride up supremely, revealing the giant metal weights on her ankles and wrists. She wore a pendant in the shape of a woman around her neck, made purely of stone.

"My name is Sister Maria Seraphina. You are?"

She offered her hand to the little girl, who hesitated a moment, before shaking it.

"Rood Verge. Orphan."

She said, which made her eyes widen, going to slap a hand over her own mouth, though she'd soon find there was no need.

"Oh, you poor little honey.....I can see it in your eyes....You're lost, but you can't go home. I won't ask why, but, I will ask this."

The giant of a woman squatted down again, that same goddess-like smile on her face.

"How'd you like to stay with me a while?"
