Let Me Go(Part Two)AU:
Your Pov••
I remember walking down the dark road. It was dusty and I remembered expecting to see the headlights of Trevor's old pick up truck but I never did. I kept on wrapping the thin sweater around myself to keep warm, even though the coldness still seeped through. That night, when I arrived home around 5 in the morning, my friend screamed in face, tears streaming down her face as she shamed me for running away for a no good addict. I closed my eyes and shook my head, ignoring her screams as I headed to my room.
Everything was the same as I left it. The sheets were still made and my closet was half raided, my shoes scattered all over the place and water bottles littering the room.
I closed the door and dropped to my knees, as if I've been hit. I remember crying and I wouldn't eat for one week and I would spend my time sleeping or in the darkness. I didn't know if it was the fact that I ran away from the country that had put me in this state, or leaving Trevor had. Either way, I saw him today after 4 years, one of those years I was seeing a psychologist.
He was a few inches taller, and he had more stubble around his jaw than usual. He still had his dark glasses over his eyes and his hair was up in a messy hair-do. He got his lip pierced like he wanted. He had a cigarette between his lips and his hands in his leather jacket.
He looked so different now.
He looked like a complete stranger to me even though I've knew him for a long time and he is an important part of my history. He looked menacing, and dangerous.
He stopped to drop his cigarette and when he did, he looked right at me. He slowly walked towards me, taking his time like he always did.
And when he finally did reach me, all he said was, "Hey."
"Hey." I replied. I thought it would be an awkward silence but he kept the conversation going as if nothing ever happened.
"How've you been?" But before I could answer, he cut me off.
"Look, I'm sorry about the other night. I know I should've gone back and picked you up. I'm sorry that my addiction abuse was affecting you and I didn't notice. It was all to much for me and I didn't notice."
I felt tears swell in my eyes and I just blinked them back, running my thumb under my eye.
"It's okay Trevor. All is forgiven." I said. I expected for him to beg me to go out, but instead he kept on talking about something else.
"I have a daughter now." he said, a smile popping on his face.
"Really?" I asked surprised.
"Yea, her name is Lydia." he smiled and showed me his lock screen. There was a little girl sitting in the green grass, her brown hair up in two pony tails and smiling at the phone. I felt something swell up in my chest, not jealousy, but happiness. I smiled and looked at him.
"I'm happy for you Trevor." I said and he smiled again.
"Well, I gotta go. I came to buy Lydia medicine, she has a cold." he said and waved before walking away. I still stood there, smiling like an idiot. He had changed, and he was happy. He had a family that he loved and loved him back, he had a beautiful daughter and he looked so much different now that I talked to him again.
He has changed a lot. And change can sometimes be good.
