Let Me Go(AU):

Your POV••
I quietly sipped on my coke, watching the blur of the horizon go by, house after house, car after car, as Trevor drove with his left hand and holding a cigarette in the other.
The only sound that was filling the silence was the low volume of an old rock station. We were now entering more of the country side and leaving the city landscape. I pulled the sleeves of my sweater down, covering my hands as the afternoon air that was rushing in from the front two windows was giving me chills and goosebumps.

"Trevor." I said, turning my face to look at him. He gave a side glance before throwing the stick out of the window and focusing on the road. A few more minutes of old music passed by until Trevor spoke up.

"y/n," he started. Finally the conversation I was anticipating since we first entered his old pick up truck.

"Can I have some coke?" he asked licking his lips. I looked at him with disbelief. We were fleeing the country from dangerous people and the only thing he could manage to say was that he wanted coke?

He must've sensed that I was looking at him because his response to my reaction was a shoulder shrug. I scoffed and basically shoved the can into his empty hand. I looked out the window and realized that the old rock station was getting on my last nerves. I opened my bag that only had a few clothes, toothbrush and toothpaste and a couple of CDs. Picking an Arctic Monkeys album, I slipped it into the CD slot and turned up the volume. As the song started, I could see the look of disapproval on Trevor's face, but he knew better than to argue with me about music especially when I'm mad.

It was on the 3rd song when he turned it down.

"I guess I owe an explanation." he chuckled but when he saw that my face still maintained the same serious expression, he stopped.

"You see, I owe some money for some...." and he started to trail off.

"Drugs. You owe money for drugs because you're an addict who can't go 5 minutes without trying to get on cloud 9." I stated angrily

"Yea and the guy-" he started but I didn't let him finish

"The guy is extremely furious at you because you're idiot self has gone 16 months without paying the debt and your big mouth won't shut up so he wants to rip your head off and you decide to flee the country. With me. And I don't owe anything nor do I have anything to do with this." I said, balling up my hands in fists. He stayed quiet, his hands also gripping the steering wheel.

"Yea, seems like you have all the information." he said as if nothing ever happened.

"Let me out." I finally said. I have had enough with him and I couldn't take it anymore.

"What?" he asked surprised by my sudden outburst.

"Are you deaf? Do you not understand English? Let me out." I said deadly calm. His mouth was open but he did not pull over.

"Fine then, I'll just jump out." I told him and this made him pull over. I opened the door and slammed it behind me.

"y/n! y/n wait!" I heard him screaming behind me but I just kept on walking back up the road from where we came from. Not long, he finally grabbed my wrist and pulled me back into his chest.

"Let me go!" I yelled, struggling in his arms. His grip got tighter as I struggled more.

"Please just hear me out." he said

"Let me go!" I yelled once more. He didn't let me go and I stopped struggling and began crying, sobs racketing my body.

"Let me go." I said in between tears. I sank to my knees, as did he, pulling me into his lap. I sat so my legs were on each side of him, my head in the crook of his neck.

"Why?" I asked into his neck.

"Because I'm dumb. And I didn't realized that I was hurting the ones I loved around me." he said and rubbed my back. I finally stopped crying and pushed him away. The sudden impact sent him to the ground.

"Let me go." was all I said before making my way where I was going. This time I didn't hear him running after me or yelling my name. I didn't hear his footsteps or anything. All I heard was the purr of the engine and the sound of the wheels driving on the gravel. Not turning around I already knew he had left, and he was not going to come back.

I kept on walking, wiping my tears along the way as well.
