Gun (AU):
Your POV••
I was still lost. I ran behind Sydney, rounding another corner into a long corridor. The gun in my hand felt heavy and the machete slung over my shoulder felt even heavier. I was still dizzy and the adrenaline inside of me was what kept me going, or else I wouldn't have ran this far.
I had to admit, I was scared. My hands were cold even though I was having hot flashes and I couldn't stop shivering. I felt sick to my stomach and the saliva in my mouth could drown me. My legs kept shaking and I felt as if I would trip over the laces of my boots any minute.
"Sydney," I said breathless, "where are you even leading me?"
She didn't respond. Instead she slowed down her pace until she came to a complete stop, putting her arm out to stop me as well. She twirled her dark red hair around her finger, a nervous habit of hers.
"Well the entrance is blocked," she started, "and every other entrance is also blocked. Can't go to the ceiling because there's definitely guards up there."
We stood silent in the dark hallway, the only sound was the loud alarm that was beeping in every corridor and section and sometimes the pipes that let out a little steam.
"How about the air ducts?" I asked her and she turned around, giving me the 'are you stupid?' look.
"Maybe there's an exit in the basement or a secret exit somewhere." I suggested.
Sydney didn't answer. Instead she leaned against a wall, looking up to the ceiling and down to the floor and down both ways of the hallway.
"There's an exit in the kitchen. I highly doubt they've blocked that one." A male voice said. I spun around to where the voice came from, gripping the gun in my hand and out from the shadows came the guy from before.
"Are you sure?" Sydney asked
"Yeah and it's a good exit as well because it's facing towards the back, not the front. They'll only be a few guards, at most 3, so we'll be able to run into the forest." He explained.
"All right let's go." Sydney said and both of them started leading the way down the hallway. I quickly scurried behind them, feeling paranoia starting to sink in.
What if he's lying? What if they're both lying? How can I trust them? What if they kill me or worst...set me free?
I decided against all my doubts and just trusted them because I didn't have another choice."How did you guys meet each other?" I asked them, walking close behind Sydney. The guy gave me a side glance, giving me a once over before composing his strict pose.
"I saw her at the market. She seemed different then everybody else in there so I decided to approach her. One thing led to another and now we're here." He explained. I nodded and looked between them, the awkward silence taking over again.
"We aren't hooking up if you're wondering." Sydney said answering my suspicions. I felt my face heat up as we kept on walking down the hallway. I was about to ask another question when the guy answered it.
"My name's Sam."
I guess I wasn't allowed to speak.
After making so much turns that made me dizzy, we arrived outside a door with a sign that read, "kitchen."
"Okay, Sydney, we will barge in but we won't shoot. Maybe there's no one in there and if we shoot we'll just attract the guards." Sam said to her. I stood there awkwardly, waiting for him to say something to me or to give me some orders but instead he rammed his shoulder into the door, both Sydney and him pointing there guns in the room.
