Wicked:

Ricky's POV••

It was weird honestly. Her appearance said one thing but her actions said another. Who knew behind all the expensive clothes and make up was a heart of gold. I just thought she was a wanna be who only cared about herself but then my perspective changed that night.

It didn't matter it was spring, the coldness refused to leave the states. That night I sat in the small, warm coffee shop at the corner of the block drinking hot coffee and just clearing my head. It was 1 in the morning and I couldn't sleep, so a walk in the crisp, cold air helped get rid of that sick feeling in the pit of my stomach but the sweet taste of the plain coffee helped relaxed me. I was staring out the window, watching the few headlights of car come and go when I heard the bell ring, signaling someone came in. I ignored it until I heard a familiar female voice.
I turned to look and saw her standing there. She was wearing a long top jacket and a pair of skinny jeans. She was wearing wedges and the same gold chain around her neck.

"May I have 25 sandwiches and 15 cups of black coffee and 10 bottles of water please? Oh, and can the cream and sugar come separately?" she asked digging in her purse and pulling out her wallet.

"Of course Miss." the girl behind the counter replied. She just smiled and handed her the money, waiting for her order.

I stayed quiet even though I terribly wanted to go up to her and ask her what she was doing, but I rather stayed and watch. She leaned against through counter, inspecting her manicured nails when she turned around and asked the girl

"Is this for you?" and pointed to the jar where it said 'collage funds.'

"Yes, it is." she replied handing her 2 bags and a big cardboard which hold all the coffee.

"Where are you going?" she asked taking her order.

"Bethany, hopefully."

She just nodded and took out roll of bills and putting it in the jar.

"Good luck." was all she said before walking out. The girl behind the counter was speechless but my curiosity got better of me. I left a 5 dollar tip and ran out the door after her. I slowed down once she was in my sight. She kept on walking, balancing the bags and tray so they wouldn't fall and she turned right and walked up to a bunch of homeless people in an abandoned parking lot. I stayed in the background and watched as she gave out the sandwiches and the coffee, sitting down herself and laughing with them.

This girl was another girl. The girl I knew wouldn't even voluntarily help someone pick up their books or wouldn't even look at a person who was at her level. The girl I knew would get manicures daily and would always have her hair perfectly styled. So who was this girl? This girl was sitting here in an abandoned parking lot sharing sandwiches and coffee with the starved and the homeless?
I heard her say goodbye and I hid waiting for her to pass me when I grabbed her wrist. I didn't hear a scream but I felt a stinging on my face.

"What the heck?" I whispered yelled at her.

"Ricky?" she asked moving closer. I still had her wrist in my hand and using my other hand to rub my cheek.

"What are you doing here?" she asked me pulling away

"Funny, I was about to ask the same." I told her crossing my arms across my chest.

"I asked you first." she said, sticking out her hip, putting both her hands on her hips and staring coldly at me.

"I was at the coffee shop and saw you come in so I followed you all the way over here. Now answer my question."

She kinda relaxed but maintained her pose not moving.

"I come here every Friday to feed them." she simply replied and started to walk away when I grabbed her arm again, dragging her back.

"Why? You're evil and cold hearted and only care about yourself. All you ever talk about is your appearance and the latest trends." I said still not letting her go

"You ruined relationships, you hurt people, you're a two face and you live in your own little world. You act friendly to people in front their face and behind their backs you talk about them. You ruined peoples reputation and you laugh at their failure."

"You're the definition of a cold hearted person." I finally said finishing my little vent.
She stayed quiet and with the same cold stare she gave me before, she looked me straight in the eye and said

"The most wicked things come from the most innocent."

Her words were sharp and hit me like a slap. She pulled her arm out of my grasp and walked away as if nothing ever happened, but in the inside, a storm was raging on. Just like me. I judged this girl by just seeing one side. And while standing in a dark alley in 2 in the morning I realized something.

People have masks.

Masks that is always hiding like the moon.

A part that is always hiding.

And that masks is their escape and their balance. If she didn't have the mask she did, she would be a mess and broken. The mask is like her glue that is keeping her together.

I finally decided it was time to go home but those words she said never left my mind as I walked home,

"The most wicked things come from the most innocent."
