New Kid:
Shoshanna POV••
I twisted the ends of my bleached hair in my fingers, staring at the split ends. I stood at my locker and crossed my fingers, hoping that Bianca wouldn't spot me this time. I cowered into my locker, making myself shrink against the blue door. It wasn't very hard considering I'm only 4'10, but somehow my shortness didn't help me this time.
"Hey ugly!" She shouted, making every head whip towards our direction. The dark haired girl with piercing gray eyes strutted her way over to me and yanked my hair away from my hand.
"Are you talking to yourself?" I sneered and a nasty scowl etched on her face. She brought one manicured finger up to my face and pushed me back with her other hand.
"Stupid little girl," she started, "what makes you think you can speak to me like that?"
"My damn American rights!" I casually responded. I knew responding to her probably wasn't the best for my situation but I just can't stand around and let people push me around.
"You don't even look American. You don't even look like a human." She laughed, looking over to her clique that was close behind her.
"Is that the best you have? An 8 year old could do better," I stated, earning a very harsh glare from Bianca.
"I would use it but then you'd start crying," she defended.
"But it sure as hell isn't a problem when you use them on your cheating boyfriend right?" I asked her
In one swift moment she had me backed up to the blue lockers and pinned my arms to my sides, digging her nails into my arms.
"I also don't have a problem hurting you." She spat before she slapped me with her right hand that unfortunately for me, had a ring on almost each finger.
I looked at her, a smirk on her face and the look of triumph in her eyes but it all disappeared when I spat in her face.
"You little bitch!" She screeched and raised her hand again. I prepared myself for the impact but it never did come because a loud male voice boomed down the hallway.
"Don't fucking touch her!" A guy roared and the new kid came stomping down over to the little scene happening. He ripped Bianca's hand from my wrist and shoved her back.
Everyone gasped and looked stunned. The new- but yet good looking- kid defended the loser. That was basically social suicide.
"I'm a guy, so I can't hit a girl but I know a couple girls who can do it for me," he said to Bianca, who was still surprised that someone on their first day just threw it all away to save me, was speechless and has her eyes trained on the new guy.
"Are you threatening me?" She screeched, looking at him in disbelief
"I can get you expelled for that!""Do it," the new guy challenged her, "I'll tell him how you physically assaulted a defenseless student."
"And if anyone dares speak for her side then please remember you were a bystander so you're guilty as well!" He added and pointed to everyone in the crowd.
"What makes you believe that he'll believe you?" Bianca asked, a smirk playing on her lips.
"Well," he started, "not only did the school cameras caught all of this on tape but I also have a recording," he said and strolled over to a girl with messy orange hair who was holding an iPhone up in the air, a triumph smile on her face.
"I got it all on video," she said in a loud voice, repeating what the new guy had said.
"So go ahead Bianca," he said and walked over to a fuming Bianca, "tell the principle I threatened you because I was protecting another student."
Bianca clicked her tongue and stared the new guy down and then glanced at the ginger girl and glared at me.
"Speechless?" I asked her.
"Barely," she sneered and turned around, sauntering down the other side of the hallway.
"Well," the new guy yelled, "what are you looking at? Move it!"
The crowd interrupted into quiet chatter and it slowly thinned out until they only left me, the new guy and the ginger.
"Thanks Lyd," he told the ginger, who only gave him a lazy smile and walked away, leaving us alone.
The new guy turned to face me, a big grin on his face. I finally took a good look at him. He had blond hair that peeped through his snapback and had his nose pierced. He was tall and slim and he had a few tattoos peeking out of the sleeve of his jean jacket.
"Why?" I asked him.
"Why not?" He shot back and stalked over to my locker, looking inside before closing it.
"Because nobody else would've done it. You're new here and all the possible friends you could've made are no longer here because you stood up for a loser," I told him.
He glanced at me, probably taking in my shaken up figure. He let out a big puff of air from his mouth and took off his snapback.
"Because Shoshanna, no one deserves to be treated that way. I wouldn't even treat my own dog like that," he explained, "even if you are a loser."
"Try telling Bianca that," I snorted.
"I kinda did, didn't I?"
I looked up, meeting his warm chocolate brown eyes. They we're nice and welcoming. They held something that I hadn't seen in anybody else's eyes since the 5th grade. They held kindness.
"What's your name?" I asked changing the topic and kinda curious on how he knew my name before I even told him.
"My name's Kian, and we're 30 minutes late to class so you have 2 choices. Either skip class with me or get detention."
I was stunned by his sudden suggestion but anything would be better than being stuck here.
"Sure," I said and before he could say anything else, I dragged him by his hand towards the exit.
