Oxford realized that he has just spent a little more than four hours in the facility due to the heated argument that occurred in the laboratory, it ended with the conclusion that Ray is something that cannot be defined for now. He was walking out of the abandoned building as the sun started to rise. He wanted to get some nap when he arrived back at his penthouse and noticed that the robot was sitting on the sofa and next to him is a toolbox that is opened. He approached the robot from behind to ask about the toolbox, but he noticed that the right side of his head has some scratches and dents on it.
"Welcome home, sir.", the robot spoke when Oxford was about to place his hand on his right shoulder.
"What happened?", questioned Oxford while he moved to the front and kneeled on the floor to take a good look on his right side.
"Ray managed to beat me three times in a duel with a freaking lance.", replied the robot when he looked up at him, exposing his damaged right eye.
"Fascinating.", said Oxford when he stared directly into his right eye that is glitching and jerking. "What were your weapons?", he added.
"First round was swords, then bare hands, and last is a rifle. Somehow, he managed to dodge every single bullet that I fire.", replied the robot.
"Nice to see you again, Oxford.", Ray greeted when he walked out from the hallway and walked to them with a small Phillips screw in his left hand.
Oxford moved away from the robot, to give some space for Ray to repair the robot. He already knew that Ray can repair the robot, even though he is a different type of robot. He watched Ray slowly turned the screwdriver, removing a screw deep from the robot's right eye socket and placed it on a plastic container that is resting on the coffee table, making sure that he will not make a mistake later when securing the new artificial eye that he found in the closet in the hallway.
"What can you say about his performance last night?", Oxford questioned the robot who was not making slight movements.
"Unexpected.", answered the robot.
Oxford chuckled quietly when Ray gently pulled the damaged eye and placed it in another plastic container that is resting on the coffee table, next to another container where the screw is. Oxford was impressed due to his organization, especially when he was putting the new eye into the socket. Oxford was about to tell Ray that robots can feel it, but decided not to, just to keep Ray focused. After the replacement, Ray told the robot to blink.
"Close your left eye, how many fingers am I raising?", questioned Ray to the robot as he raised his hand and lifted two fingers.
"Two.", answered the robot.
"Great.", said Ray while he grabbed the screw and gently screw it back into its socket, which secures the eye.
Ray then placed the screwdriver back into the toolbox and even the tools from the floor, the plastic container where the screw was and closed the box, locking it. He stood up from the floor with the tools box in his left hand and the other container, where the damaged eye is, in his right hand and left the living room, into the hallway and into the closet, where he found the toolbox.
"The eye is yours.", shouted Oxford to Ray.
"His reward?", questioned the robot when he looked at him.
"Yes.", replied the man before standing up and walked into his bedroom to take a shower.
The robot stood up and went into the kitchen to prepare breakfast for the two humans. Ray, who just walked out from the hallway and noticed him in the kitchen, joined him by going into the fridge, grabbing some eggs, and placed it on the counter top, near the glass bowl that the robot just placed. The robot also went to the fridge, grabbed two avocados and placed them next to the eggs while Ray started to make toasts.
"We will be having some visitors later.", said the robot as he was slicing the avocados.
"Do they know about the two of us?", questioned the man when he started to break the eggs into the bowl.
"No, but Oxford will introduce you to them, I will not since I am a robot.", answered the robot while he started the electric stove and placed a frying pan on it.
"Are the visitors his friends?", questioned the man as he poured the egg into the frying pan.
"His family.", replied the robot.
"Did he introduce the test subjects before me?", the man continued to let out questions while he kept his eyes on the pan.
"No, because they don't look like humans, unlike you.", said the robot as he took the toasts out from the toaster and placed them on the plate.
Oxford walked out from his bedroom after a great shower to wake him up when the two were about to finish in the kitchen. While he was waiting, he stood near a picture window that shows another penthouse on the building that is next to his, where his family is. He looked back at the two in the kitchen and noticed that they have finished, so he walked away from the window and sat on the chair and scooted closer to the table. Ray sat on the other end of the table while the robot sat on the sofa, where he usually sits and ponder.
"Ray, have you fallen in love with someone before?", Oxford questioned before he grabbed a toast and took a bite from it.
"I can't remember my past, but I think I am right now. I saw someone yesterday.", replied Ray.
"What does she look like?", said Oxford.
"Blonde, she is as tall as me, and her smile... is the most wonderful thing I've ever seen so far.", replied Ray as before he let out a smile.
The robot was listening to their conversation like what he always does, he never turns his head to face them even when they are talking about an interesting topic but when he heard Ray described the girl that he saw, both of his eyes widened while he slowly turned his head around to face them, Oxford also noticed that the robot was looking at them. Oxford blinked at Ray after hearing his reply. He glanced at the robot whose eyes have become massive and a smile on his face.
"And where did you see this wonderful girl?", Oxford questioned.
"In another penthouse, next to this building, it looks similar to this penthouse actually.", said Ray.
Oxford glanced at the robot who has his right hand covering his mouth, trying his best to not laugh out loud. He looked back at Ray who was eating an avocado.
"Really?", Oxford questioned with a small smile on his face, Ray noticed it.
"Yes...", replied Ray slowly before looking back to the robot who was sitting on the sofa with his right hand still covering his mouth.
The robot stood up and walked closer to the two men. Ray and Oxford were watching him going towards them.
"I wonder why...", said the robot when he stood between them with his hands on his waist.
"Do you know her?", Ray questioned Oxford who has just finished his breakfast.
"Of course... she's my daughter.", answered the man.
