"Bring him here.", ordered Cal to one of the guards who interrupted him doing his papers in the dome.

He was alone in the dome, he is always alone, the other members of the high society never returned for unknown reasons, they were investigating for it for a couple of decades, but when his patience reached its limit, he ordered them to stop the investigation. A few employees protested against him, all of them were executed right after. Just like everyone in the facility, he cannot remember his past and he was also abducted from his parents. He stopped searching for his real parents a long time ago, he decided to move on and build his own story.

Cal was letting out a sigh when the doors of the dome opened. Two robotic guards walked in, dragging a male and placed it in the middle of the floor and then they left without speaking since some of them don't have the right to speak. He placed his pen next to the papers when he stood up whilst keeping his eyes on the male who was breathing deeply.

"Tell me, Oxford. What are you all trying to do?", Cal let out a question as he was walking down the stairs which leads to the same floor where Oxford is.

"Are you protesting? Trying to kill yourselves? What?", Cal stood just a few feet away from the man who did a glance at him.

He pulled out his phone and called a guard with just a push of a button. A guard reported after a few seconds, Cal ordered the guard to bring him Ray, who he expected to be still in the staircase, and then the droid left their sight after doing a nod.

"This exact moment will mark as the end of our age and the beginning of a new one."

Cal whispered as he was looking up at the ceiling which is made out of glass. He moved away from Oxford and went to a glass cabinet where the firearms are placed, he grabbed two pistols and then returned to Oxford who was still lying on the floor. Cal loaded one of the guns and the other emptied it and then he switched the safety off and waited for Ray to arrive.

After waiting for a couple of minutes, the doors of the dome opened for the second time. Ray came into their view as the doors were still opening. Ray then walked and stopped at just a few feet near the two men. Cal stared at Ray who was acting like nothing happened. Cal cleared his throat before starting to talk.

"I'm not going to last here forever, Ray... you'll be my replacement.", said Cal as he was staring at the man wearing a white general uniform.

Ray jerked his head gently with his eyes closed for a second. "I... don't understand."

"You'll be the new member of the high societies.", Cal told the man after he sighed and glanced at Oxford.

"May I ask, what is Oxford doing here?", Ray looked around the area just to check if there is someone nearby but he found none.

Ray also noticed that Cal was holding a gun in his right hand, completely visible to all of them.

"He violated a rule... You know what will happen if one violates a rule.", Cal raised his right hand and is now handing the gun to Ray who's eyes got widened and in shock as he was staring at the weapon which he also guessed is loaded.

Ray received the pistol and carefully turned his body to face the weak, defenceless man on the floor. He looked at Cal who was waiting for him to shoot. Ray noticed that the gun's safety is already turned off, all it needs to do is to fire. It was taking forever so Cal decided to stick the other gun to Ray's head so speed up the process and to make this event more dramatic and intense. Ray's heart started to beat faster as he began to point the gun at Oxford who was also staring at him.

"You have two choices...", whispered Oxford but it was still loud enough for Cal that's why he turned his head to him, losing his focus to Ray.

Ray quickly turned the gun and aimed it at Cal and immediately, he pressed the trigger and...

nothing came out of it.

Ray stared at Cal who was also looking at him, this time with an evil smile. At this moment, Ray knew that he really messed up. Oxford was about to get Cal's attention but it was too late, he watched Cal fired a bullet to Ray's head, point-blank. Oxford was speechless as he kept his eyes on Ray's body that just dropped on the floor and a blood puddle started to form from the area near the head. Oxford looked up at Cal who was also staring at the body.

"Such a disappointment.", said Cal as he was retrieving the gun that he anded to Ray.

"I hope death intervenes!", cursed Oxford when he was trying to stand up but as soon as he was on his knees, he felt a gun touch his forehead. He looked up and there he saw Cal aimed his gun, probably the loaded one, at him ready to press the trigger.

"Don't worry... nothing lasts forever.", said Cal when he removed the gun from Oxford's forehead and walked away to call the guards.

Oxford limp carefully and sat down next to Ray's dead body. He noticed that his eyes are opened, so he voluntarily closed them with caution.

"I'm sorry...", said Oxford to the body before he was taken away by the guards.
